With the release and success of ‘Oppenheimer’, wanted to share a personal story. My Mother was a ‘down-winder’… She died of cancer, 13 years ago. Before she died, she worked with Senator Orrin Hatch to create the Downwinders compensation program. By far the most awarded compensation program, Downwinders® allows $50,000 for each claimant who was physically present in particular areas of Arizona, Nevada, or Utah (downwind of the Nevada test site) during the relevant time periods: January 21, 1951 through October 31, 1958 (for at least 2 years during this period) – or – June 30, 1962 through July 31, 1962. My Mother grew up in Hurricane, Utah. My Grandpa worked for the Dept. of Agriculture. Her Uncle worked for the Atomic Energy Commission and helped Oppenheimer and others to build and test the bomb. My Mother was a politician, Educator, friend, advocate, fighter for the voiceless, and woman of the Year in California. She said her favorite job was being a Mother. Love you Mom! @QeChannel @VcVoid @Rocketverse369 @MediatorFilms #missyoumom #create #oppenheimermovie @oppenheimermovie #atomic #Cancer
