Hot take of the day: I think PGY-1s should make as much as a new grad NP or PA. My college friends in these roles received their full new-grad salary even while on-the-job training… I probably won’t see this change, but maybe trainees behind me will.

🧵for new residents and students: Over the last year, I've done 9 threads on different suture materials. Included here are links to each of these. I'll leave this 'pinned' for now. They are: Prolene, silk, Vicryl, PDS, Ethibond, Nylon, Monocryl, Chromic, and barbed sutures.

Dr. Warnock has a nice ring to it ✨ I am so thankful for my family, friends, mentors, and pup (of course!) who have supported me through this journey. I wouldn’t be here without them. Now onto residency and becoming a surgeon at the place I fell in love with it! 🥂

With heavy hearts, we saw the clinical career of Deborah Billmire draw to a close last week. She helped innumerable children and advanced children’s oncology care for decades. We wish her lots of great outdoor adventures in retirement. @RileyChildrens @APSASurgeons @IU_Surgery
