The proliferation of blind bags with variant covers from comic publishers seems like a gimmick on top of a gimmick. I get it, it's another revenue stream for publishers and retailers (and artists hired for covers), but feels like it does little to add actual readers. Thoughts?

@ronmarz The whole Willy Wonka effect has made for brisk sales, but it makes the business even more top heavy, and does nothing to address the real problem which is readership. Gambling is another quick fix, and will probably stick around. Look at sports cards for the comic book’s future.

Wild thing happened yesterday. A fan I met in Bangalore at @ComicConIndia in January came up to me yesterday at my local Albany Comic Con. (He's here visiting his sister.) Small world, huh?
