From 4–5 March, community members in Hola, @Tanariver004 came together for a training on #climate resilience and conflict-sensitive resource management. In a county where recurring droughts, floods, and competition over natural resources can heighten tensions and create vulnerabilities that violent extremist groups may exploit, the engagement created space for dialogue, shared learning, and practical solutions. Convened by @NCTC_Kenya with support from @EUinKenya, the training strengthened local capacity to mitigate resource based conflicts and strengthen community resilience. The initiative contributes to the implementation of the NSPCVE and reinforces a whole of society approach to building peaceful and resilient communities. #NSPCVE #TuweTayariKuilinda #SecureKe @TardaKE @KECOSCE @SFCG_Kenya

In a world where extremist ideas now spread at the speed of a scroll, Kenya’s peace strategies must be just as fast and savvy; meeting influence with insight, algorithms with awareness, and online spaces with community resilience. ynews.digital/column/kenya-v… @GIFCT_official

Building Peace Beyond Borders From 13–23 January 2026, stakeholders from #Kenya and #Somalia convened in Nairobi for a 10-day bilateral PCVE training, shifting the focus from hard power to community-led, policy-driven soft power approaches. The engagement explored emerging radicalisation trends, early warning signs, peaceful coexistence, mental health, and the critical role of women as leaders in #PCVE, not just participants. Closing the training, @NCTC_Kenya Director General Mr. Kibiego Kigen emphasized that lasting security lies in ideology, dialogue, and community ownership, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in building a safer Somalia and Kenya. #RegionalSecurity #CommunityResilience @Mustafa_Y_Ali @PeaceCenter_ @jica_direct_en @Horninstitute

.@NCTC_Kenya, with support from the @EUinKenya, convened key county and community stakeholders in @Tanariver004 for the county-level activity under the Kenya–EU Partnership Project for the Implementation of the #NSPCVE 2025–2030. Held in December 2025, the engagement focused on supporting the review of the Tana River County Action Plan (CAP) to align it with the refreshed National Strategy to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism (NSPCVE) and to strengthen locally driven, context-specific PCVE responses. The forum brought together county leadership, national government representatives, civil society actors, community leaders, youth and women representatives to: - Review NSPCVE priorities and pillars - Examine the relevance of existing CAP interventions This engagement marked a key step in translating national policy into practical, county-led action, reaffirming the importance of a whole-of-society approach in preventing and countering violent extremism. As implementation of the NSPCVE 2025–2030 continues, NCTC remains committed, together with county governments and partners, to strengthening prevention efforts that are inclusive, evidence-based, and responsive to local realities. #NSPCVE #KenyaEUPartnership #TanaRiver @CSMechanism
