I have a question for you Boils & Ghouls. If you could make a Mount Rushmore for Horror movie make up artists/monster creators…who would be on it?

I’ve been lucky to have known or worked with a lot of legendary make up artists in my career from Rick Baker to Stan Winston to Greg Nicotero etc. I also owned a “Dick Smith’s Horror Make Up” kit as a kid (yeah that was a “toy”) and hosted a panel on Universal’s Jack Pierce so…

@john_murdy We took my 11 year old daughter this year. It was like every house she walked in had a big ol wanted poster with her pic on it. She loved it.

I especially think it’s cool that there are members on our team today who I met when they were kids when their moms/dads first took them to HHN. Excited to see what the next generation of haunters brings. So…”Don’t dream it…be it!”

A lot of Irish people slag U2 but there is no denying the power of their 1983 anthem “Sunday Bloody Sunday” about the Bogside massacre in Derry in 1972. I live about 30 minutes from where this event took place and it reverberates to this day. This year is the 50th anniversary

Wrapped up another treatment today. Came in at 82 pages. How did I write it so fast? I borrowed a chimp from the local zoo and let him bang away on my laptop. What he wrote is pretty good! Kind of like Planet of the Apes only with more chimps. And Charlton Heston dies in the end!

The final scare in the maze was a variation on the “one of these things is not like the other” scare with giant wickermen positioned around the room. Because of the height of them, we assumed everyone would think they were props...till one of them moved (stiltwalker)!

What was the first concert you attended? Mine was Foreigner in 1978 at the Great Western Forum in LA. “Double Vision” tour. I was 11 years old and went with my older brothers. I remember there was a lot of dry ice on stage during their hit “Cold as Ice.” What was yours?

Then there were the films that were critically panned but I’m strangely fascinated with for various reasons. The movie that destroyed United Artists Heaven’s Gate, the film that killed Disco Can’t Stop the Music and the film that killed Queen (at the time) Flash Gordon.

@john_murdy I think you would have dug Pinching Judy. They were about to be signed by Electra and filmed a video for national release (I was a PA on the shoot) but the contract was pulled due to... umm... let's say bad habits.
