Classrooms of children in Iran. Hundreds of people in Lebanon. The ongoing genocide in Gaza. Their humanity matters, but the message from our political & media class is clear: some lives are worth less than others. We are all human beings - and we all deserve to live in peace.

Shortage of NHS stroke specialists in England resulting in death or disability. Between 10,000 and 20,000 patients died or sustained a serious disability because of treatment delays. Lives destroyed by fiscal rules, austerity, appeasement of the rich theguardian.com/society/2026/j…

NHS England is rolling out software to run our health records from Palantir – a US spy-tech firm that has supported mass deportation in the US and enabled genocide in Gaza. Say No to Palantir in the NHS ⬇️ goodlaw.social/ac5995

You only think you hate her. But it's not her you hate, it's her authenticity, compassion, fearlessness - qualities you might have once had or at least wanted to have but life drained them from you. You're looking for the angle but there is none. She simply cares. And you can fight to reclaim that empathy. It's the easier, softer way than emptying, fruitless hatred.

@LizWebsterSBF I work in construction and nearly all the suppliers have informed us of price increases in January from 3%-10%. No real reason for it as far as I can see, except for greed. Expect inflation to increase again in the new year.

🇬🇧 UK inflation falling faster than expected strengthens the case for a rate cut 👉but let’s be clear why. Lower food, clothing and energy prices are doing the work, alongside weaker demand and rising unemployment. That’s disinflation from pressure, not a booming economy. Rates may fall - living standards haven’t recovered. Lower food prices this Christmas are driven by shrinkflation and imports undercutting UK farmers while British farms quietly collapse. This is cheaper food today, no food security tomorrow. Energy is cheaper than at the crisis peak bc the economy absorbed the shock not bc energy is genuinely cheap or secure. Without reform (decoupling electricity from gas, long-term contracts, storage, renewables), prices will rise again.

"Christ would embrace the refugees and cast the fascists out" Billy Bragg sings a new song in response to a far right carol concert in London Song: Put Christ Back in Christmas Put Christ back into Christmas The season of goodwill Peace on earth for everyone So let the bombs be still :et the guns fall silent Let the hungry be fed And let the tyrants of the world Lay uneasy in their beds You'll want Christ back in Christmas Yet you ignore his words And live a life of selfish As if you've never heard Of the Samaritan who stopped and helped Strangers dressed in rags And you pay lip service to the world While worshipping the flag A flag won't ask you've done to help the poor survive But Christ demands you cast you cast away the sin of national pride Love thy neighbour as thyself And you will plainly see That true message of Christmas time Is one of empathy In haste to vilify you forget Christ was a refugee King Herod's murders orders forced His family to flee Into the land of Egypt Where their safety did lie Would you refuse to let him in And sent him back to die God rest ye merry gentlemen All drunken in dismay You'd not be so belligerent If Christ came back today If he was forced to chose a side I'd tell you without doubt That he'd embrace the refugee And cast the fascists out Come all you peopel of good faith And listen to my song If you have studied your holy book You'd know that it is wrong To use the name of Jesus Christ In order to divide So stand with those Who need the most Goodwill at Christmas time So stand with those Who need the most Goodwill at Christmas time Put Christ back in Christmas

Thatcherism broke Britain. The EU was just the scapegoat. We sold off council homes. We privatised our utilities. We deregulated everything. We hollowed out industry. We turned housing into an asset class. We handed public wealth to private monopolies. We replaced wages with debt. We stripped the state and called it “freedom”. Then when the consequences hit 👉 low growth, low pay, high bills, no homes, collapsing services the same politicians who caused it pointed at Brussels and said: “Look over there.” Brexit was never the cause of Britain’s problems. It was the cover-up for forty years of deliberate policy choices. And now we’re paying the price. apple.news/AM2ddZ4NKQNyz6…

UK govt can save over £20bn a year by stopping payment of interest on commercial banks’ central bank reserves. Subsidy implemented after the 2007-08 crash. Banks now very profitable. Since 2023, the EU stopped paying interest on central bank reserves. leftfootforward.org/2025/11/this-i…

@BladeoftheS Stop the pension age from continually rising! I should have been retiring in 7 years, now it's 14. Thankfully just in before the next increase in age. Also all health and social care - GPs to ambulances to elderly & special needs care etc...

⚡️BREAKING: Freed photojournalist Shadi Abu Sido, kidnapped on March 18, 2024, during Israel’s raid on Al-Shifa Medical Complex, spoke after nearly 20 months in captivity, expressing shock at global silence. “For two years I was starved, I went in starving and came out starving,” he said. “They hung our bodies day and night, naked, abused and insulted us. They told us, ‘We killed your children. Gaza is gone.’” Translation: @translatingpal

We are in an incredibly dangerous moment. We not only face the threat of a far-right government coming to power for the first time in our history, but also a violent far-right street movement on a scale not seen here in decades - if ever. This street movement, led by convicted criminal Tommy Robinson, is especially dangerous for Black, Muslim, Jewish, and other minority communities. And we need to build the broadest possible opposition to it. Everyone has an interest in standing up to these far-right thugs. Their hatred, racism, and division are being funded and cheered on by the super-rich to distract from the real causes of people’s problems: our rigged economic system. This stoking of hatred and division offers ordinary people nothing. It won’t build a single council house. It won’t put a penny more into the NHS. It won’t deliver higher wages. But it does allow the super-rich to shift the blame, protect their privilege, and keep getting richer - while everyone else is left worse off. Throughout history, we have driven these far-right forces back. And it is up to all of us - from different parties, from different communities - to come together, and to drive them back again.

This is quite possibly the most powerful and important thing I’ve ever seen. Max Porter’s Wild West is a glimpse into British violence - colonial, institutional and chillingly ordinary. We are a country haunted by our own brutal fictions. Watch this. Trust me.

Brexit led to 1,500 deaths a year as EU nurses left UK. Replaced by less experienced/skilled staff, lower quality of patient care. Brexit has done harms. No impact assessment was provided. Farage/Reform still doing the same with nationalist rhetoric. independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…

No need for austerity. UK govt gave £70.6bn tax relief on pension contributions. 63% went to 6m 40%/45% tax rate payers. 37% to 28.1m basic rate taxpayers. By fixing the relief at 20% for all Govt can have £14.5bn spare. End tax perks of the rich. leftfootforward.org/2025/03/heres-…
