My ugly experience with a fraudulent house agent: He has been looking for a shop for me for about six months now, and on Wednesday, he called me to say he had found one. The payment is 2 million naira yearly, which I instantly sent to him because I needed to drive for two hours before I could meet him. On Thursday, he said they went to the lawyer to draft a receipt. Still, the lawyer wasn't around, so I should send my account so he can transfer the money back which I did, he never sent the money and later in the evening, he called and said we have to wait till Friday, when the lawyer will call, I agreed. On Friday, I called him to send the money back because I had seen another shop, and he agreed to send it, 2 hour's later, I called and he said he was in an area where there is no network, I kept calm and he called again in the evening that the lawyer said we should wait till Saturday morning, I agreed again. On Saturday morning he called me again and said if I could come to where he lives which is where the shop is, mind you, that's a 2-hour drive. I agreed and instantly drove off thinking that the shop had finally worked out. Getting there, he jumped into my car and that was when he started the story that he had a brother in the police station and he gave his brother the money to secure his release and his brother has a land he wants to sell for 8 million that I should bring another 6 million so that I can take the land. Instantly I told him in my mind "You are going to the police station to take your brother's place" I told him I have never told you that I want to buy a piece of land, so why assume that I will need a piece of land and use my money to make an advance payment? He told me that I should take him to the bush so that I can see the land, because I am not familiar with the place and it was only me, and I don't know his next plan, I declined and gave him 3 options, find a shop and make the payment instantly, transfer my money to me or take a drive with me back to where I came from so he will meet the agent who found another shop for me so he will explain to him to give me the shop space so that they will settle later. He agreed to follow me not knowing it was a plan for me to take him to where I am very familiar. Getting here, I took him to the police station directly where he finally confessed that he used the money to play sporty. He has been in the police station since Saturday.
