Scientifically speaking it's a 'convection' oven, the fan breaks the natural air layer between your food and the heating element to cook it faster/crisp more. "Air Fryer" is marketing mumbo that sounds good. In standard ovens you need oil/butter or some other kind of conductive material to have this same effect In use? It takes my oven 10 minutes to reach temp to cook my mozzarella sticks, and they'd need to be in there 15 minutes It takes my Ninja 30 seconds, and cooks them in 6.

Can someone please explain WHY we need an air fryer ? Does an oven not do the same thing ?
