Clean Energy Association of British Columbia Announces Leadership Transition VANCOUVER, B.C., March 12, 2026 – The Clean Energy Association of British Columbia (CEBC) announced today that Executive Director Kwatuuma Cole Sayers will be transitioning from his role as he prepares to take on a new opportunity. An announcement regarding his next position will be made separately in the coming days. Kwatuuma will continue to support CEBC during this transition period on a part-time basis as the organization prepares for its next chapter of growth. During his time with CEBC, Kwatuuma helped strengthen the organization’s voice and relationships with key decision-makers across the public and private sectors. He stepped into his role during a period of constrained market opportunities, and with support from CEBC’s core staff and members, led strong and focused advocacy that helped spark a new era of significant growth for British Columbia’s clean energy sector. His leadership supported collaboration across industry, First Nations, and government while advancing dialogue on the role of clean electricity development in the province’s economic future. CEBC is thankful for Kwatuuma’s leadership and contributions. The Association has been pleased to watch him grow and lead within the sector, helping elevate important conversations around clean energy development, Indigenous partnerships, and long-term economic opportunity in British Columbia. His contributions have also been recognized nationally. In 2024, Kwatuuma was honoured with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, recognizing his leadership and commitment to advancing clean energy and Indigenous partnerships in British Columbia. “Kwatuuma has provided thoughtful leadership at a critical time for our sector,” said CEBC Board Chair n̓aasquʔisʔatḥ Stephen Rayner. “We are grateful for his work with the Association and wish him success as he takes on this next opportunity. I look forward to continuing to support CEBC’s work and operations alongside our staff and members as we continue to build momentum towards a clean, competitive, and resilient economy.” As the organization continues to grow, Board Chair n̓aasquʔisʔatḥ Stephen Rayner will work closely with CEBC staff as the Association advances its key strategic priorities, member services delivery, advocacy, and collaboration across the province. CEBC is strongly supported by its core operations team, including Director of Engagement and Operations Jack Magnus and Director of Communications and External Relations Ombrielle Neria, ensuring stability, alignment, and strong execution across the Association’s work with government, industry, and First Nations. CEBC remains actively engaged on priority files across the sector and is well positioned to build on the momentum already underway in British Columbia’s clean energy transition. CEBC serves as the voice of British Columbia’s clean energy sector, bringing together industry leaders, First Nations, and partners to help advance the development of clean electricity and strengthen long-term energy security. The Association continues to advance priority work across the sector related to the BC Hydro and FortisBC calls for power, government relations, reconciliation, regulatory efficiency, tariffs, transmission build-out, integrated resource planning, distributed energy resources, construction and transportation infrastructure, and capacity resources, among other key files. As B.C. seeks to strengthen its economy and demand for clean electricity continues to grow, CEBC remains focused on strengthening partnerships and helping shape a clean energy future that benefits communities and industries across British Columbia for generations to come.
