High school sports are under attack by radical DEI zealots. Wave 1: Men in women's sports & Title IX violations. Wave 2: Equity-driven efforts to destroy competitiveness, prioritizing clubs over teams for ultimate radical equity. Wave 3: Radicalize disenfranchised athletes.

It is shameful that @GovEvers is mocking children and families desperate for services as he vetos funding. This federal K-12 scholarship program could be life changing for WI children! Centers like On The Mark Dyslexia Clinic in Northeast WI, which provides tutoring for K-12 students with dyslexia, have over 100 students on the waitlists for testing and services. This program would be no cost to the state, just more aid for kids who desperately need it. History will judge him harshly.

Governor Evers here is referring to a bill he vetoed that would have provided an opportunity for scholarships for both public and private school students. It would've helped children with dyslexia who cannot afford to pay for reading support, children whose parents struggle to pay for before- and after-school care, the family who cannot afford fees for their child to participate in band trips and other extracurriculars, and so much more. And our governor thinks it is amusing to share a picture of him holding a stop sign as some sort of "own" to private schools / school choice. What he's really doing is stopping families in need from accessing resources that would greatly benefit their children. But hey I'm sure the teachers unions are happy.

Oh wow, our Governor is making jokes about harming school children throughout Wisconsin. Here's what's going on: Federal law creates a dollar-for-dollar tax credit (up to $1,700) for any donations to scholarship granting organizations. You give money to the organization, you take a tax credit, the organization must then use the money for scholarships. Those scholarships are open to all students, public and private alike. Can cover tutoring, transportation, special needs services, etc. More money for kids at zero cost to the State of Wisconsin or our local districts. But Governor Evers' purely political decision making means Wisconsin kids (in both public and private schools) are ineligible to receive those scholarships. So while you can still make a donation, and claim a tax credit -- your money just will be sent out of state to help kids elsewhere, no Wisconsin kids can benefit. Real galaxy brain stuff here by our Governor...

The issue isn’t that 3:05 is “after school” but that it’s at the end of a school day when dyslexic kids are already cognitively exhausted. Their brains work 2–3x harder all day just to decode language, process text, and compensate — leading to real mental fatigue by 3pm (depleted attention, working memory & focus). Structured literacy intervention needs high concentration to rewire pathways effectively. Doing it when they’re drained = poorer retention, more frustration & slower progress. Best practice (backed by dyslexia specialists) is during the early part of the school day while they’re fresh.

@ColbeyDecker I’m not sure what the problem is with having intervention at 3:05? Is this after the school day at your school?

Can’t believe that I had to intervene over this-When a student with disabilities uses their extra time on state testing and therefore misses out on class time for an assignment- taking recess away the next day (which happened to be 70) to punish them for being behind is crappy.

Green Bay schools are not only suing for more funding, but they are also planting the seeds for major programs, athletics, etc, to come under scrutiny for concentrated amounts of funding going to small numbers of students. These programs aren't "equtable." Ultimately leading to athletics being targeted because what is more anti-DEI than a highly skilled athlete and individuality. They will offer handy-dandy alternatives of endless club participation instead.

Aside from locking down schools and businesses, the 400 year property tax might be @GovEvers biggest blunder. Public opinion on “more funding for schools” hit a low and people are NOT happy about his 400 year property tax increase. This is damage control for democrats.
Heartland Signal@HeartlandSignal

Wisconsin State Sen. @BradPfaffWI (D-Onalaska) blames Republican leadership in the state legislature for property tax increases across the state. "They are cynically defunding schools at the state level, and they are forcing the taxpayers to pick up the check."
