So the guy that was offered this HCA role yesterday 😆He’s engaged, already proposed and everything, but not officially married yet. During his briefing, he was told that since he wasn’t married, the sponsorship would only cover him.
This man didn’t just accept it quietly. He stood his ground and kept pushing for his partner to be considered too. He even showed us his proposal video, clear as day that this wasn’t just talk, he’s fully committed 🫡
What struck me was that, even though she isn’t his wife yet, he was already thinking ahead, trying to make sure she’s secure and included from the start so there are no issues later. That level of intention and responsibility? It says a lot.
After he left, we discussed his case behind the scenes, and the HR handling his recruitment was genuinely impressed. Instead of putting him on a COS that wouldn’t support his partner later, she went the extra mile to secure one that gives him the option to add her in the future.
Fast forward to this morning, his request was approved. He’s now been told he can include his partner later.
Honestly, moments like this just remind me: men are good people. We may not always get it right, and yes, we can be a lot sometimes, but deep down, a lot of men are trying, really trying to love right, to provide, and to stand up for the people they care about.

There’s something special about seeing someone’s hard work finally pay off. That quiet smile said everything, relief, gratitude, and hope for the future. Happy for this Naija babe and guy wey just land 5yrs CoS for my trust😅 She almost started laughing loudly 😅 I think the new salary band is helping.

@tomisin_ms Coincidentally I watched same movie during the day. Toyin Abraham TV on YouTube. An interesting one.
English

I’m watching a movie where Ogogo is the father, and he’s stopping his Muslim daughter from marrying a Christian.
Her sister (Toyin) went off on him, saying he did the same thing to her.
And instead of reflecting, he turns to their mother and accuses her of teaching the girls to go against him.
Why do some Nigerian fathers do this?
The moment things don’t go their way, they shift the blame to the mother like she’s the reason the children have minds of their own.

243 days since my last tweet. In that time, I:
- Wrote my Bar Finals
- Lost my dad (my strategist)
- Hit flat 0 in Web3
- Upskilled
- Started a major rebuild IRL
- Got involved in a project (TBA)
- Gained clarity
Through it all, I can't be ungrateful to the source that never deprived me of my fuel, the ALMIGHTY.

Good morning Nigerians 🇳🇬
I promised to host a Twitter space for those invited to the PTDF scholarship interview but I’d be dropping a two part thread incase the space doesn’t hold. Please share this post with anyone who know who have been shortlisted.
Hopefully this helps someone😊
This is part one 1️⃣ of 2️⃣
🌼First, you need to understand what the PTDF is assessing. Most people think it’s just academic excellence. Wrong.
Your interview is scored around 3 things:
Motivation
Aspiration
Your actual work/effort
If you don’t structure your answers around these, you’re already behind.
🌼The interview is short. Which means you must be sharp from your first sentence, don’t wait to put your best foot forward at the end. There are thousand of people to be interviewed.
🌼Your statement of purpose is your biggest weapon and they will ask you questions from it.
Expect questions like:
Why this course?
Why this country?
Why this school?
How does this link to Nigeria?
*Please know the full meaning of PTDF😭🤲🏾
🌼You must align EVERYTHING to Nigeria as
they are investing in Local capacity and National development. Let your response reflect how you intend to come back to Nigeria.
🌼Another low hanging fruit is to know PTDF like you know your name.
You should be able to answer:
What does PTDF do?
When was it established?
How is it funded?
Its mission/vision?
🌼 Prepare for 4 categories of questions
1. Personal (Tell me about yourself)
2. Academic (your field, fundamentals)
3. Research (your proposal/SOP)
4. General awareness (energy, global issues)
🌼 I am sorry in advance but you should be ready to defend your response and choices
Why not study in Nigeria?
Why should we pick you over others?
Why this specialization?
🌼 Do not be confused about your research/project proposal. Be ready to;
Explain your topic simply
Show relevance to industry
Highlight impact on Nigeria
🌼 Bonus points. Be familiar with current affairs
Energy transition trends
Oil & gas developments
Global energy politics
Dangote refinery 👀 and Maybe recent trends in the Middle East or globally and how they affect energy situation.
I guess what I am trying to say is understand how interconnected the world is and how one policy change can affect another country or or region.
Practice. Practice. Practice.
Practice with a friend, colleague or sibling.
Or in front of a mirror.
Finally 👇🏾
Treat it like a conversation, not a test, and do not be afraid. If this makes you feel any better, the panelist are human beings like you.🙂
💎Final mindset shift
You’re not begging for a scholarship.
You’re proving tha you are a smart investment.
That shift alone will change how you speak, answer, and carry yourself.
Please dress well too. 🤲🏾
In part 2️⃣ I would do scenario based questions and sample responses you can use to frame yours.
Expect this in 5 hours ⏳

My sister get coconut head!
Someone reached out to me to let my younger sister be his front desk manager.
The agreed salary was ₦45,000. I asked her if she was comfortable with the amount, and she said yes.
Last month, the man called again and said because business wasn’t moving well, he wanted to reduce her salary to ₦30,000. I told him to discuss it with her directly and that it was okay with me if she agreed. After all, she’s not feeding herself and doesn’t have transportation, we leave the house together in the morning and return together.
Last week, he called again saying he couldn’t pay her for the previous month and gave different excuses. I still told him to speak with her about it.
On Friday, I asked her what she planned to do. She said she would give me feedback after work.
This morning, while I was preparing to go to my shop, I told her I might call her later to come help me arrange some goods for a client because the load might be too much for me. She replied, “I’m following you to your shop.”
I was surprised and asked, “What about your workplace? What about your Oga?”
She said she’s not going anymore. And she’s not returning his keys either.
She has decided to hold on to his office keys until he pays her what he owes.
How do I convince her to return the key???

TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI FOIL TERRORIST ASSAULT AT MALLAM FATORI, NEUTRALISE OVER 80 INSURGENTS INCLUDING HIGH-PROFILE COMMANDERS
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in the early hours of Wednesday successfully repelled a coordinated and simultaneous five-pronged terrorist attack on own positions at Mallam Fatori in Sector 3. The terrorists, who advanced in large numbers on foot and deployed armed drones in a desperate bid to breach the defences of locations of troops, particularly along the frontage of Bravo Company from the Duguri general area, were met with overwhelming resistance.
Having maintained full situational awareness of the battlespace, troops had anticipated the attack and deliberately prepared an offensive-defensive battle designed to decisively defeat and annihilate the assault elements. Through disciplined fire control, coordinated manoeuvre and superior tactical execution, the attackers were engaged, disrupted and routed in disarray, with no fewer than 80 terrorists neutralised during the engagement.
Additionally, the firefight was further reinforced by precision of close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, complemented by rapid strike passes from allied Nigerien air assets, which compounded the pressure on the fleeing insurgents. Exploitation of the engagement area led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition and combat enablers, including 52 AK-47 rifles, 8 PKT machine guns, 7 RPG tubes, 5 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), over 3,000 rounds of assorted 7.62mm ammunition, 21 RPG bombs, 9 locally fabricated IEDs, multiple magazines, communication radios and components of armed drones deployed by the terrorists.
Despite the scale and intensity of the assault, own troops recorded minimal casualties, with four soldiers wounded in action and promptly stabilised, while follow-on Battle Damage Assessment of air interdictions remains ongoing.
Significantly, the operation resulted in the neutralisation of three high-profile terrorist commanders, namely Mallam Abdulrahman Gobara, Mallam Ba Yuram and Abou Ayyuba, who were key figures in coordinating and leading the failed assault.
Furthermore, several other identified fighters were eliminated during the engagement, including Zarkawi, Ba Bunu, Rawa Fannami, Abowor Suwurti, Bulama Mil, Abu Aisha, Suleimana, Abu Rijal, Abu Ali, Abba Gana Kawiyya and Ahmodu Hirasama. The elimination of these commanders and fighters represents a severe disruption to the terrorist command structure and operational capability within the axis.
This decisive victory represents a major operational setback for the terrorist network and further underscores the growing combat effectiveness, resilience and tactical superiority of Operation HADIN KAI forces across the Theatre.
The failed attack clearly contradicts recent misleading propaganda and false narratives suggesting that troops are overwhelmed or experiencing setbacks. On the contrary, troops remain firmly in control of all locations, maintaining dominance through sustained offensive operations, effective joint force integration and high morale.
Operation HADIN KAI reassures the general public that the security situation in Mallam Fatori and its environs remains firmly under control, while urging citizens to remain vigilant and disregard unverified reports intended to undermine ongoing military operations. The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience, urging them to sustain the operational tempo.
