@Rasheethe See the person @seunokin they platform. A fmr councillor, he couldn't even ask her tough questions, like what did she do different while in the APC, or what her ideology is and if it aligns with the ADC. Mediocre journalist.

Zainab Buba Galadima predicted the storm nine months ago. But the Tinubu supporters ignored her warning. Now that the storm has arrived, Tinubu and his supporters are all nervous.

I envy the Israeli left. Not their politics. Their freedom. They march through Tel Aviv calling their own country an apartheid state. They go on CNN and call the IDF war criminals. They write op-eds in Haaretz comparing Israel to the worst regimes in history. They join NGOs funded by hostile governments to produce reports designed to delegitimize the Jewish state. And then they go home. Sleep in their beds. Send their kids to school the next morning. No one threatens their family. No one disappears them in the night. No one drags them from their home. Zero consequences. Now imagine, just imagine, if Iranians had 1% of that freedom. If an Egyptian columnist could criticize Sisi the way Gideon Levy criticizes Netanyahu. If a Palestinian in Ramallah could call Abbas corrupt on live TV and walk home safely. If someone in Gaza could have held a sign saying "Hamas does not speak for me" without being executed. The Middle East would be unrecognizable. The great irony is that the people who enjoy more political freedom than virtually anyone else in the region use that freedom to paint Israel as a tyranny while the actual tyrannies they're silent about would imprison or kill them for doing the same. You're not brave. You're spoiled. You mistake comfort for conscience. You scream "genocide" into a microphone the state itself protects, then sleep soundly in a democracy you spend your days trying to destroy, while millions across this region would trade everything they have for five minutes of the freedom you use to spit on your own country.

@StepheniaOmeh What do you think happens to the ADC gov aspirant in Lagos, or the rest of the SW? He made a banger tweet, and automatically made ADC lose SW votes across all positions. Pray they give him the ADC ticket lol. Because he can't win it.

I heard a Keke driver in Kano shouting, 'I'm a supporter of Atiku, but wallahi, if Peter Obi gets the ADC ticket, I will support him. Whoever the ADC fields against Bola Tinubu, I will support him.' Bola Tinubu has pushed Nigerians to the wall, forcing rational thinking 🤭

Yoruba politicians will continue to have low positive engagements on their social media handles because of the disconnect they created in our society. No one would go all out for politicians who easily throw their fellow Yorubas under the bus just to please non-Yoruba Nigerians.

Two days ago, I was still with Mr. Kunle Ajibade in his Acme Road office in Lagos. This veteran journalist, who was an Editor of The News magazine in the 1990s, actively participated in the national movement against Abacha’s deadly junta. Ajibade faced treason charges after publishing his famous article titled “No one guilty: The Commission of Inquiry presents an empty file regarding suspects in the coup d’état”, which angered Abacha and his henchmen. The article forensically examined the alleged 1995 coup plot against Abacha and the frantic efforts to legitimise Abacha’s decision to sentence the suspects to death. In July 1995, Ajibade was secretly tried by a special military tribunal set up by Sani Abacha and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, his sentence was later commuted to 15 years after international condemnation. He was detained at Makurdi prison where he endured severe torture at the hands of Abacha’s men. Ajibade spent three years in Makurdi prison before being released in July 1998 following Abacha’s death. Two days ago, while speaking with him, he still pointed to the joint fracture he suffered from the torture inflicted on him by Abacha’s men. Coincidentally, he is on the verge of marking the 31st year of his detention and prison ordeal. Today, Peter Obi said Abacha was more democratic than a man who stood in the vanguard of pro-democracy movement in the Nigeria. One Northern old fool, Shakabula, is defending the evil perpetrated by Abacha… all because they hate Bola Tinubu — one of the thousands that fought Abacha.
Olufemi Adebimpe@femiadebimpe

Kunle Ajibade was the Editor of The News magazine and he was sentenced to life for treason for publishing a story on the same coup during Abacha's reign. People were doing life in prison while Peter Obi was getting Port appointment from.the same dictator.
