Students in Mrs. Allen’s Honors Geometry at CHS reviewed algebra skills by completing a multi-step equations scavenger hunt. Students are reviewing this because it will help them find segment lengths and angle measurements this year in geometry! #clarity #RedhoundsWorkHarder

Science is off to a great start at @CHSredhounds! Biology started with “What do good scientists do?” and had students categorize their answers using the Science & Engineering Practices in their standards. Chemistry was working on inquiry skills as well with a Notice/Wonder chart!

Corbin High School Reading Teachers met today to discuss text complexity & reading strategies for the classroom with Erica Perkins, our instructional friend from Carter County 📚📝📖 And we celebrated several birthdays in the department with a Trisha Perry cheesecake!

Corbin Science Teachers came back together today to examine the SEP’s of the science standards & make connections to all grade levels with one of our favs, @LaceyEckels! The afternoon was spent looking at phenomenon-based assessments. And look at Lacey in her Corbin red! 👀❤️

Our K-12 Math Teachers spent another day all together digging into teacher clarity by exploring three key mathematical practices. Principals joined in the afternoon to hear from their staff on what they had learned & wanted to be intentional about this school year. @LTexas1

Administrators spent time diving into the Performance Level Descriptors & discussing the skill progression students need to master in each content area. Each school developed a walk-through tool to help them in giving feedback to their teachers! 🐾❤️ #clarity

This is Eli Hill. He’s 8 years old. His family is absolutely devastated after he died yesterday from a freak accident while playing basketball at his home in Corbin. The backboard came off the pole, and fell on him.
