Well, it only took me 2 years to start this book, but it's been relaxing this Thanksgiving vacay. Downsizing brings up intense emotions, & reading about healing the mind has been uplifting. It's better than the dread often felt when I start new rooms😌 craftingglow.com/2023/11/26/yog…

@AdultsNeedHelp2 Well I brought them in this year but waited too long. The frost got them, so I had to cut back all the leaves. They definitely aren't pretty at the moment, but I'm hoping they survive🤞

@AdultsNeedHelp2 It's really hard to find a specific plant sometimes. I wonder if the growers are in charge or if stores tell them what they want a season ahead?

@AdultsNeedHelp2 I believe most of them with the long pieces in the middle (stemens?) will turn into the whirls. I can't be positive though lol. I also think there are a ton of varieties of these. I couldn't find our plant listed either, only similar ones.

@AdultsNeedHelp2 I wish I could remember, it's either a pink or purple one. If I find the tag buried in mulch I will let you know!

Just sharing my new favorite Fall Dessert and how I made ours gluten free. There is a little bit about our guidelines for what gluten snacks come in the house. I also show pictures of our new oven backsplash. Spoiler, it's from the dollar store😂💗 craftingglow.com/2023/10/10/pum…

@AdultsNeedHelp2 Yes, mine are huge this year. I'll feel guilty cutting them back to live inside, but it seems less extreme compared to completely chopping them and overwintering the bulbs. Both are better than forgetting them and killing them completely, which is still a possibility for me🤦‍♀️

@CraftingGlow I love the big leaves and the stems are strong. I fear they won't get much sun indoors. I hate having to put all the plants away. I feel like they just found their way. 😊

@CraftingGlow Yes, they seem to fall off in no time. I'm trying to dry them. Yes, I think I'll have paper bag them. Thank you! Have a great week.

@AdultsNeedHelp2 I've taken my whole plant inside, and it's bloomed multiple times over winter. You can do the bulb thing if you don't have the space for big plants inside. The plants do throw off the wilted flowers though, and can be a little messy.

@CraftingGlow Will you take the blubs out of the ground/pots and put them in a brown bag or just leave it in the garage? Not sure what to do - chop them back?

@AdultsNeedHelp2 Ours are in a pretty small pots and one bloomed and the other didn't. I think they are fussy about sunlight and like a lot. My better sun one grew faster, bigger, and bloomed.

@CraftingGlow Ha ha ha. That's smthg I would do. Yeah, so my Canna's look nothing like the picture urrr. I am seeing nothing but orange/pink ones around. They really do take their time, right? I put the bulbs in late May and they are just starting to bloom. I think the pot is too small?

@AdultsNeedHelp2 Glad you got another to try. You might get surprised and end up with 2 next year. I think they sometimes hide the 1st year.

@CraftingGlow Hi Ya - Thought you would like to know about the "Albert Einstein Vine" - someone pulled it out??? Maybe it died? Anyway, growing a different one. I think it has a flower - no stringy hair. It was my neighbours up the street. She has it twisted around a wooden post.

@zethrebu @Payal_s22 I wish I could recreate the smell of my grandmother's house. She didn't cook much, so I know that wasn't where the good smell came from😂

@Payal_s22 Absolutely. Deliciously ripe watermelon takes me to the Phoenix Zoo, where they had wandering peacocks back then, and glorious just-fruit watermelon popsicles, complete with seeds that my dad & I would compete to spit farthest when my mom wasn't looking.

I'm considering taking a book binding course with my oldest in the summer. Does anyone know of any good youtube resources? Summer is a long way off, and I'm really excited to learn a little about it now. Thanks!
