@Bullseye_wb@Wario64 That was already accounted for with their first price increase. This one is just bullshit. They have contracts to protect them from varying market conditions on components.
@DKizzy@Wario64 Tariffs are a shipping/importing cost. Doesn't matter what price you had from the parts manufacturer. The Tariffs will change the cost for the company no matter the components cost.
@DKizzy@Wario64 You're right it ain't just tariffs but it ain't just greed either.
AI is taking all the RAM and components and making things pricier for EVERY technology company.
We're in the middle of a war started by a pedo manchild.
Copper production is being affected by both of the above
@YuppyYellowKing@DKizzy@Wario64 While true these companies sign deals with manufacturers to get the prices lower than normal so they can profit they aren't going to pay the current cost. And they sign these deals for years maybe a decade to keep the prices locked for the cycle of the system. This is greed.
@rgbinOmaha@Wario64 Sony has contracts that span years. That is a standard practice. Pre-Negotiated component pricing. That way, their margins improve as the tech ages.
@ToffeeFever@Wario64 You get it. Blaming RAM is also bs. Sony has pre-negotiated contracts on all components for YEARS with consoles. They end up paying less over time which is the entire benefit to their margins as tech ages.
