Reality of professional sports betting Last 4 days: +29.18 units 💰 Today: -6.5 units ❌ I've said it so many times but not every bet will win and not every day will be profitable, and that's ok and completely expected because when I place bets - I am not making predictions but assessing probabilities and finding value. The goal isn't to win a bet or to make profit one day, it's to keep making value bets which in the long-term will mean consistent profit. Consistent profit doesn't mean profit everyday, it means consistent profit over time. I sometimes make bets which I expect to lose - why? Well the odds may imply a 20% chance and I might believe the true probability is 30% which means value but clearly I think it's likely to lose - the difference is that whilst it may lose that day, that same bet taken over and over again will mean profit. Of course I would like to make profit every single day but that's not necessarily the aim and that's not how I judge my work. I judge my bets based on my analysis, regardless of whether the bet won or lost. The most important thing I want yous to understand is that it's essential to be disciplined. If you have a losing day? No problem - just don't start forcing bets to make it a winning day. If you have a winning day? Great, but now onto the next day by following the exact same process. We had a great weekend but I didn't care and I followed my usual process of doing the analysis and finding value. Today was a reverse sweep and I will again follow the same process of doing the analysis and finding the value. The previous bet, the previous day - makes no difference to me or my process.
