@All_Things_Mavs Cooper Flagg shouldn't have to drop 50... he's done 49 and 10 on 69% already. The fact that this is conversation is sad. Again media controls the narrative and not basketball. They pretend he's scoring 12-15 points a night with 2 assists 3 rebs while playing decent defense

@Out_of_Hornets @Nerdrous All I'm saying it there's a lot of microscoping of stats for fans of Kon to build up his resume. His resume is good enough, and it's plain to see what he is a great complementary player on a healthy and striving team. This could of been different if you guys weren't healthy.

@Out_of_Hornets @Nerdrous Yeah on fewer assists per game. That's like saying Jokic is a better 3 point shooter than most shooters because he shoots 50% from 3 from 2 threes per game. It's disingenuous when comparing to more quantity. Guards that get more assists tend to get more turnovers.

@Out_of_Hornets @Nerdrous Or if you watched basketball instead of bias to see how much he defers and passes to teammates in game. His teammates aren't elite distruptors like say a Lamelo ball. Sometimes they will go to score 3-4 possessions in a row instead of giving it to coop to score.

@CatsandCanes @coopmavs One player is a complementary , catch and shoot player who is the 3rd or fourth best on his team. While the other is the focal point for team defenses, and still has to create his own shot because no proper playmaking guard, and keeping his team in the clutch.

Voters are really going to hold a lack of 3pt shooting against Cooper Flagg in his RoY bid? When he's doing things only the truly elite of rookies has ever done. Yeah, he's the guy I watch every night, but you dont have to watch him every night to see all the other things he does

@DaRealMQ Yes, especially that wide open 3pt shot vs James Harden and the rejection by 7'4 center Keon Ellis deep in the paint man on man. He's been guarded 1 on 1 multiple times by JAMES HARDEN.

@MavsHighlights @Thereapercczz I get you but I see flashes... especially those games when he is ultra aggressive. He just needs to be more comfortable. Just give him some time he's young and the benefits will greatly overshadow the mistakes now.

@DaRealMQ @Thereapercczz I'm not AT ALL against trying to grow him in a lost season like this one.
I just don't see the ball handling potential to be a consistent shot self creator.
This season is all gravy, but after this season, that development window is closing quickly as Cooper intends to win

Max Christie is simply not a good enough ball handler to be trusted as a secondary initiator.

@MavsHighlights @Thereapercczz They are trying to help him grow beyond just catch n shoot while he is young. And isn't this the best season to experiment to achieve that? His overall game offensively will never get better if he's just delegated to just being a catch and shooter. Not everyone is complacent.

I don't blame the coaches for seeing what he's got in the bag, but it appears he's going to be an elite catch and shoot guy who can occasionally take advantage of a lane created on a hard close out.
And that is just fine w me.
He's a solid 4th/5th
