@DailyDreg @Pugman1939 @0Fami In fairness most people assume he's fictional. It is a play after all, not a history book.
The genocide/language ban was after he was defeated and killed.
English

@MementoOccidens @Pugman1939 @0Fami Yeah it's the problem when we rely a lot on history or stories from people who'd had conflicts with them, the romans records didn't particularly put them in a good light either and sometimes it's hard to see what's fabricated or fact.
English

@DailyDreg @Pugman1939 @0Fami MacAlpin decreed a death penalty for speaking Pictish in public. They didn't just disappear.
And the part about their last king is because the ruler of Scotland and England, when that play was written, was Banquo's descendant out to tarnish his name.
English

@MementoOccidens @Pugman1939 @0Fami Mainly because they had no written language once their culture died a lot of their ways of life, belief's and practices died with them.
The only know about them through second hand accounts and what physical presence they left.
English

@DailyDreg @Pugman1939 @0Fami So mysterious that everyone knows the name of their last king, but almost nobody knows that's what he actually was.

@Pugman1939 @0Fami The Picts are almost a completely different people to modern day Scott's, the Scottish obviously have genetic lineage from the Picts but not only the the Picts are a mysterious people because they didn't like outsiders and little is known about them,.
English

@DailyDreg @0Fami I more so meant back when they were just the picts. They had some armor when they were picts, but not uniformly.
English

@mauthe_doog @0Fami Yeah, he was a man that was put in an unreasonable situation and acted the only way he could survive but in a genuinely genius way.
A level of ingenuity and courage, if he wasn't given a raw card in life who knows what he could've done.
English

@DailyDreg @0Fami the fact he escaped the shoot out but returned to rescue his mates really cements his legacy, I think
English

@Pugman1939 @0Fami I mean they did where amour, why would they for go armour in battle when they have the resources and skills to make it lol.

English

@mauthe_doog @0Fami The fact that this was real and not fiction is crazy to me, the balls on that guy lol.
English

@0Fami Greetings from Australia. We were founded too late to have a tradition of metal armour, but we do have one folk hero whose gang made makeshift armour: Ned Kelly. He is a figure roughly equivalent to Robin Hood or Goemon

@BlackCobra170 I mean his humour is cringe but no more than I'd expect from an Alexx stream and pyro hasn't brought the F slur back, it's because people wanted to say it or are still waiting to see if the current climate will allow them to say it and won't get significant push back.
English

There a reason why the F slur is making a comeback.
Because this is got to be the gayest thing I saw from you fanboys yet and I had seen you fanboys do some gay ass shit in this app.
