In retrospect, DeSo is inevitable.
If you're new here, let me paint a picture for you.
There are lots of puzzle pieces that are starting to come together before your eyes.
We've built and optimized the DeSo infrastructure for the last several years.
I know "building" is a meme now, but we actually built some really powerful tech (more on that below).
Once the last two puzzle pieces come together (Revolution PoS and our next killer app), we aim to spark a new era in social media.
Not some dystopian 1984 version.

All of the above pieces and some robust technical implementations I left out (will link below) form a completely open and decentralized social layer for the Internet.
On this layer, you can launch censorship-resistant social layers where creators can monetize in infinite ways.
You could build hundreds of friendtechs and Stars Areans on DeSo.
That's a true light bulb moment for many people.
All of these apps are powered by $DESO, which will soon become deflationary.
Once completed, we will shift into full-on growth mode starting in Q1 - Q2 20224.

DeSo is positioned to lead the next major trend in crypto:
Consumer-facing applications that scale to billions of users.
Why?
DeSo is an infinite-state blockchain with several unique features, it is well-equipped to handle apps with intense storage requirements.
Other blockchains are finite-state and mostly built for DeFi, which is one of the major reasons it’s difficult to scale social media unless they store their content off-chain or build on L2s.
They lack the storage capabilities to scale decentralized social networks.
Building on L2s fragments liquidity, hurts UX, and puts a cap on the network effects of DeFi, as users are forced to bridge to a different chain to engage in the ecosystem.
Storing content off-chain means we are DOOMED to repeat the mistakes of old, where people get censored and deplatformed en masse.
Additionally, it leaves the creator economy vulnerable ALL over again because platforms can ruthlessly censor their speech as their content is stored on Zuck's centralized storage farms.
This means they can sell your data for billions and collude with the government without you ever knowing!
We witnessed this firsthand with the release of the Twitter files; just because they got caught doesn’t mean they will stop overnight.
Since the dawn of time, people in power positions have always attempted to silence dissenting voices.
There are COUNTLESS examples in history books.
King Henry VIII, who reigned from 1509 to 1547 and was notorious for his harsh treatment of those he perceived as enemies or threats to his rule.
He sent spies everywhere to see if anyone would speak out against his policies or taxes and if they did, he would execute them.
It is estimated he executed around 57,000 to 72,000 people.
Reasons included treason, heresy (speaking out against a narrative), and other crimes.
The methods of execution ranged from beheading and hanging to burning at the stake.
Deplatforming someone for voicing their opinion is essentially a digital beheading, considering that most of the world is becoming digitally native, and we use apps as an overlay to reality.
There needs to be a censorship-resistant social layer for the internet that prevents this.
So what features does DeSo have that other chains don’t that position it to lead the next big trend?
Cost Efficiency
Storing a 200-character "tweet" on Ethereum can cost approximately $80, while on Solana, Avalanche, Polygon, and similar smart contract chains, it can cost between $0.25 to $1.00+.
In stark contrast, the same operation costs less than 1/1000th of a penny (less than $0.000017) on DeSo, making it significantly more cost-effective for storing content.
DeSo is 17,000 times cheaper than Solana and an INSANE 5 million times cheaper than Ethereum.
Designed for Infinite-State Applications
Before DeSo, it wasn't feasible to create storage-heavy social applications. DeSo stands out as the sole solution in the market today, uniquely capable of powering "infinite-state" applications.
This design approach allows for storing content and social activity on-chain, making DeSo a pioneering platform in building a network effect around open social content and digital currency.
As it stands today, most blockchain communities exist off-chain, which means it throttles network effects and creates security issues like phishing attacks.
So to sum it up
DeSo's infrastructure and tools are built to support massive-scale, on-chain storage with extreme efficiency and at very low costs.
This includes storing content, social graphs, identity, and assets fully on-chain, which are 100% open-source and permissionless.
This means anyone can run a DeSo node and access the data.
There are no walled gardens, which brings innovation BACK to social media.
We haven't seen innovation in social media since the early days.
The only other team in social media today shipping products and innovating with velocity is Elon Musk and X.
What we’re building at DeSo is so much more than just another social network, considering it overlaps with multiple different industries, including social media, mainstream media, crypto, and the creator economy.
At the center of it all is our native token, $DESO, which powers current and future blockchain apps.
