Government profits more than builders every time a new home gets built. It's no wonder builders have stopped building. Red tape and high fees are crushing the dream of home ownership. Only @PierrePoilievre and @ScottAAitchison have a real plan to fix it.

Taxes and red tape are crushing the dream of home ownership. Over 30% of the cost of a home in parts of Ontario and B.C. now comes from government charges. In the GTA, development fees alone can be close to $200,000.

My Colleague @jacobmantle asked a reasonable question, proposed a practical solution and Housing Minister @gregorrobertson responded by blaming the war in Iran for the rising cost of housing. Robertson just doesn't get it.

It is truly remarkable how every time Mark Carney does something reasonable and thoughtful, a minister is immediately sent out to undermine him. What on earth is going on in Liberal caucus?

For years several Ontario & BC community colleges ran a massive scam to monetize student visas. In broad daylight. The federal government did its part by giving full time work permits (!) even to foreign “students” enrolled at dodgy diploma mills. Some provinces allowed publicly funded community colleges to contract out programs, and therefore foreign students, to the same private diploma mills. The consequence: hundreds of thousands of families overseas mortgaged farms, houses and business to pay the recruitment agencies to get their kids a “ticket to Canada” through this scam. They were assured by the recruiters and overseas immigration consultants that the study / work permit combo would guarantee them permanent residency, and with it the ability to sponsor their families. And if that didn’t work out? Don’t worry, just make an asylum claim, and Canada will never get around to removing you. In the meantime, you’ll qualify for welfare, basic and supplementary health insurance, publicly subsided housing, open work permits, etc. But for many of these young people, their Canadian dream looked more like a nightmare: jammed into insanely expensive apartments and houses, sleeping in shifts, working bottom end delivery jobs, enrolled in fake or third rate programs. And we all know the broader social consequences this has had: from housing affordability, to declining per capita GDP, to the upheaval in our immigration system. So how is it possible that there have been no consequences, professional, legal, or political, for those responsible? Where did the money go? What bonuses were paid to the presidents of Conestoga College, and others amongst the worst offenders? Are we all supposed to pretend that this didn’t happen? There is no shortage of blame to go around. But the college presidents who betrayed the mission of their institutions, and the public trust, should be the first held to account.

LIBERAL MISINFORMATION SPREADS LIKE WILDFIRE ON X My feed is full of people arguing about conservative influencers, but have we talked about Liberal influencers? The post below is an outright lie, viewed 270,000 times on X and amplified repeatedly by Liberals. The caption is about the Conservative convention -- but this video is from 2024! I found it on CBC's website in about 10 seconds, but that hasn't stopped this insane misinformation from spreading like wildfire. "Fun Tom" has a hidden identity and posts mindless pro-Liberal slop like this all day long and then has the gall to criticize conservative influencers like @mario4thenorth and @truckdriverpleb, writing: "This devious and deceptive Conservative clique of shit-stirrers who DAILY peddle in misleading half truths, lies and innuendos, on behalf of Poilievre..." x.com/funtomvids/sta… How can you criticize conservatives for "misinformation" and then post something that's so easily and verifiably complete bullshit? I think it's time to start calling out Liberal "influencers" for this nonsense. What do you think?
