वर्ष 1988- मैं संसद मार्ग पर स्थित अपने कार्यालय में था, Ministry of Surface Transport के Roads Wing में। जब upsc द्वारा आयोजित civil services का result आने का पता चला तो स्वयं जाने की हिम्मत नहीं हुई। दोस्त को बोला कि तुम चेक कर बताना अगर roll number दिखे तो। जब दोस्त ने roll number होने की ख़बर दी तो मैंने पूछा कौन से page पर है नंबर? वह बोला ३ (या ४) page पर, तब IPS मिलने के अंदाजे पर मैं स्वयं result चेक करने गया। उन दिनों रिजल्ट labour commissioner कार्यालय के बाहर चस्पा होता था।
