But the waiter looked at it and flat-out refused to take it. He told us that if we weren’t willing to leave at least $85, we shouldn’t be eating out in the first place. I was honestly caught off guard. I felt embarrassed sitting there, like we’d done something wrong. We weren’t trying to be cheap or disrespectful — I genuinely thought $50 was a fair tip for that bill. Now I keep replaying the whole thing in my head, wondering if I misjudged it and questioning whether $50 really wasn’t enough.😱

I am not going to defend Donald Trump, but you really don’t have your head screwed on right, or it’s stuck so far up the Democratic partisan ass that you can’t think clearly, if you believe that nonsense about Joe Biden. He was essentially a Hail Mary pass in 2020. Even then, there were obvious early signs of cognitive decline, but he was selected because he was viewed as a “safe” candidate to run against a president who, despite constant controversy and a chaotic administration, had overseen a fairly strong economy for three years before SARS-CoV-2 and the Covid pandemic changed everything. Incumbent presidents are usually difficult to defeat, but the political and economic shock of Covid made Trump uniquely vulnerable. Almost any reasonably acceptable Democratic candidate likely would have won in that environment. As for the Biden administration itself, it was one of the most incompetent administrations since Herbert Hoover. Much of the decision-making appeared to come from unelected handlers and bureaucratic insiders operating behind the scenes, but it still happened under Biden’s presidency and therefore under his responsibility. What went wrong over those four years? Massive additional spending layered on top of already enormous pandemic expenditures, which further accelerated inflation. Border policies that allowed millions of illegal immigrants into the country. Policies perceived as hostile to domestic oil and gas production. A disastrously executed withdrawal from Afghanistan. Weak and inconsistent responses to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Continued Iranian advancement toward nuclear capability while also supporting proxy terrorism throughout the Middle East. And yes, I already know the response will be, “But what about Trump?” As I said at the beginning, I am not defending Donald Trump. Both of his administrations had serious flaws and controversies. But you made this specifically about Joe Biden, and viewed objectively, he will go down as one of the worst presidents in modern American history.

Imagine the worst thing you can say about Joe Biden is that he got old while carrying the weight of the country on his shoulders. He beat Trump when no one else could. He gave America and the world a fighting chance. He rebuilt the economy, passed historic legislation, stood with our allies, and restored dignity after four years of chaos and incompetence. Yes, he believed he still had more to give. That is not a moral failing. That is a man who loved his country and did not want to walk away from the fight when his nation needed him. In the end, he didn't fail the country, we did, because we fully knew the stakes. History will be much kinder to 46 than the pundits ever were. That I know. I’ve got his back. How about you?
