The only "fast" food is often actually taco shops, and things imported by foreigners (like Burger King)-- in fact, there is basically no drive through anywhere as well. You have to park and eat. 7. Breakfast is typically at like 9 or 10am, lunch places don't open till 2, and dinner isn't till typically 8pm. Yes, that is weird, I never really got used to it. But on the upside, you get to places before basically any rush. 8. The only people who complain about noise from parties are the people not invited to parties. Try to be cool enough to join. 9. Everywhere can be a party. I got stuck once on the side of the road for hours and people just came out of their cars and talked trash and played music. 10. Learn Spanish if you live here. Not only does it make things way easier, but it is also one of the best languages for trash talk and jokes. 11. Making fun of people is a part of the culture. When I was growing up, we used to have thicker skin, and there was a difference between being mean and poking fun. Most people here poke fun at basically everything and everyone. I think the world is better when we can all laugh.
