@EditSynergy Fantasy. Converting a LitRPG story I had into traditional fantasy. The story begins in the Renaissance era and uses my magic system I developed a couple years ago.

@SomeOkieDude I would love to be a beta reader, how can I apply?
English

4 drafts later, my dark fantasy novel A Plague of Nightmares is edited and ready for beta readers. No need for copyediting, I want notes on the story, characters, tone, flow, etc. Great for fans of Joe Abercrombie, Solomon Kane, and dark fantasy.

@EphemeralesqueW Amazing, can I still be part of your beta readers team?
English

@VinesRache82286 @book_favour Whenever you are ready, I would love to be a beta reader for your book.
English

@book_favour Thank you. I'm not completely finished but a few friends have read excerpts and they really like it. I'm hoping to be completely finished by July and ready for BETA readers.

Lysander is the protagonist of my debut novel 'After Sunset'. But whose side is he really on?

@demimschwartz Amazing, would you be needing feedbacks on your book?
English

@EditSynergy Thanks! And definitely!!! I’ll reach out once the full manuscript is ready

I just sent the first few chapters of my new book to some beta readers!!!! I’m a mix of proud and nervous all at once, but glad I’m taking a step to (hopefully) getting published. Wish me luck!! ♥️

Three people. Three locked rooms. Seven minutes to midnight.
An Eternity of Dawn is a layered story and it asks, what are you holding onto, and why won't you let it go?
I'm looking for beta readers. I'd love your honest review

@RobinAldnHoward @GaiusKonstantin Do you have a WIP you need a beta reader for?
English

@GaiusKonstantin I rely on my beta readers. I'm always looking to get more. They come and go

To Beta or not to Beta
So you finished your manuscript, perhaps it’s your first, congratulations. Maybe you showed it to a few friends and family members, they read it, and think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
Do you know what that means? Pretty much nothing.
Let’s be frank: if you’re looking for honest, unbiased feedback, family is rarely the answer; that’s where beta readers may come in handy. In particular, confusing passages may be called out because, after all, you know exactly what you mean when you write some words, the target audience may not.
Plot holes, flat characters, and pacing issues can also be identified, but there’s a catch.
Beta readers are not all the same. Some are experts at what they do; others are not. Some will interject their personal belief systems into their feedback, and others will be objective. It is vital that you understand the difference because using a beta reader does not assure quality feedback.
So what to do? Actually, a lot.
You could forego beta readers entirely and rely on your editor(s), but that isn’t always feasible. So if the choice comes down to nothing or a beta reader, go for the beta reader.
Remember that you have the final word, but don’t take any feedback personally. Analyze it, investigate it, and then determine what action (if any) is needed.

English

@omgsidewalks Finishing a book.
English

@EditSynergy Maybe! That would be great, although of course I’m always a little cautious lol
English

@CreedWrites Are you open to getting a fresh eye on your book? I am open to😊
English

@EditSynergy Yes I have edited, and done a little bit of beta reading.
English

@CreedWrites That's really nice. Have you gone through beta reading and editing stage?
English

@EditSynergy Right now I’m finalizing everything, The Ballad of Gauge should be coming out in the next few weeks!
English

@EditSynergy No it’s not lol. It’s just a little short story I was writing for fun.
