Back to Prop C: With one precinct left to report, Prop C has carried every one of the city's precincts so far. As it stands: Yes: 5,470 (63%) No: 3,200 (36%)

Prop K update (the countywide sales tax renewal): With 22 precincts reporting, the yes votes have about a 1,881 vote lead. Still have 94 precincts to go, so a long way to go before this one is over. Yes: 3,935 No: 2,054

🧵It's #ElectionDay in Missouri and tonight I'm keeping tabs on two proposals in St. Charles County. The renewal of Prop K (a 1/4-cent sales tax) for capital improvements and Prop C (an $85M bond issue) to relocate St. Charles City Hall.

Correction: The study is going to take 14 weeks to complete. The study will also illustrate if the city is need of a dedicated community center that would have meeting room space and other facilities.

Weldon Spring Board of Aldermen unanimously award contract to FGM Architects, who will lead a 14-month long study on the feasibility of renovating existing city hall or building a new city hall. The city currently uses a repurposed ranch-style home.

The study is expected to begin in earnest in 2024. City officials say the study will include time for public comment. Some aldermen believe said they’ve been told by some residents that they “are embarrassed by the state of our city hall.”

And the public comment period is now over, ending with outbursts from frustrated meeting attendees who still wanted to speak but time had elapsed.

Rachel Homolak, the individual who lodged the initial complaint over the library employee’s attire, now accuses the library district as being “100% complicit in participating and encouraging the sexual abuse of minors.”

Vastly different atmosphere at tonight’s @StChLibrary board meeting tonight. Roughly 100 people here which is about 250 people less than last month’s meeting which was standing room only.
