Two days ago, we lost our neighbor’s wife after a long struggle with cancer. She didn’t die because treatment was impossible, but because she couldn’t find it here and she was denied the chance to travel for it. Her death was painful, but the real pain came after that. Today, just two days later, her sister also passed away. The same illness, the same helplessness, the same ending. Two sisters gone one after the other, as if death here takes everything. For over a year and a half, they tried everything. They knocked on every door, reached out to every organization, searching only for treatment or permission to leave. But nothing changed. They died, leaving behind young children without their mothers. How can anyone accept dying not because there is no cure, but because access to treatment was denied? Here, death is not only fate… it is deprivation. Every day, people die not only from disease, but from lack of basic rights. Speak about this. Share what is happening. Don’t let it be normal. Because it is not.

Interestingly when people japa, many tend to get angrier about Nigeria. Some folks who didn’t really care about politics began to care when they realized the only reason they were outside Nigeria in the first place was a forced choice. Good.

A friend is going through the most heart wrenching betrayal. Her husband has been in the UK for 5 years while she stayed in Lagos raising their two kids, sending him foodstuff and dried fish through "cargo" so he wouldn't miss home. She was literally praying for his papers to click. The shock? Someone sent her a TikTok of a naming ceremony. There he was, glowing in a blue tuxedo, holding a newborn with a woman who is a Nurse in London. While my friend was here battling NEPA and school fees, he had a whole second family. He used her loyalty as a home base while he chased a life with another woman for papers. When she called him, he just said, "Nigeria is hard, I had to survive. Omo He stopped their allowance and everything. He really chose the UK life and that Nurse over the woman who stayed with him when he had nothing in Shomolu. I am actually shaking for her. Men will watch you suffer for them in Nigeria while they enjoy the fruits of another woman's labor abroad. FEAR MEN.

Today makes it two years since i lost my leg to this evil beast called cancer. Two years of living with a reality i never imagined for myself. As I mark this day, I ask for one thing from everyone reading this, please say a word of prayer for me. 🙏😪
