On the evening of June 7, 36-year-old Jeffrey Tyler Kinzer drove past a family gathering in Leesburg and began shouting racial slurs at the group from his vehicle. Moments later, Kinzer opened fire with an AR-15 rifle toward the family. He has since been charged with aggravated assault and was released on a $5,000 bond. Kinzer works as a firefighter at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. The victims’ family is calling for additional charges, stating that one count does not reflect the severity of the incident.
