🌍 Webinar Recap – Managing Compliance and Risks in China in Times of Geopolitical Tensions On 18 November 2025, the Flanders-China Chamber of Commerce (FCCC) hosted Mr. Philippe Snel, Founder and Lawyer at DaWo Law Firm Shanghai, for an insightful session on how companies can navigate China’s rapidly evolving compliance landscape. 💡 Key Highlights: 🔹 Trade & Regulatory Compliance He outlined stronger supervision of trade declarations and the need for companies to closely monitor regulatory updates to avoid operational risks. 🔹 New Anti-Unfair Competition Law (AUCL) Effective since 15 October 2025, the revised AUCL introduces new rules for platform governance, data use, and expands personal liability for executives. It marks a major shift in China’s market regulation. 🔹 Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Trends China has intensified enforcement, with higher penalties and a sharp rise in investigations across sectors — especially healthcare. Companies must reinforce internal controls and training. 🔹 Compliance as a Business Credential Mr Snel emphasized that compliance frameworks now determine access to clients, partners, financing and supply-chain eligibility. Strong ESG, EHS and labour compliance have become baseline expectations. 🗣️ The webinar was introduced by Ms Gwenn Sonck (宋惠安), Executive Director of the FCCC.
