Just days ago, nearly 8 million people showed up across the country. That’s not just a crowd. That’s collective power. But what happens after moments like this? Because showing up is only the beginning. Right now, as families navigate real challenges — from missed paychecks to the rising cost of care — we know change doesn’t just happen in the streets. It happens in our communities, too. That’s why we’re launching House Parties for Democracy this April. Small, local gatherings where people can come together, share their stories, and turn this moment into real action. Because building a democracy that works for families starts with conversation, connection, and community. At Family Values @ Work Action, we’re organizing for: ✔️Care Policies - paid leave, sick days, and affordable childcare ✔️ Free and democratic elections that protect our vote ✔️ Tax justice, ensuring that billionaires pay their fair share 👇 Want to be part of what comes next? Drop a 🏠 or DM us to learn more. #CareCantWait #CareEconomy #FamiliesOverBiooionaires #CareisLove

They healed communities the system forgot. They organized workers who had no seat at the table. They translated medicine across languages and cultures so their people could survive. They fought for the right to exist in spaces that were never built for them. As we wrap up Women's History Month, we're honoring five women whose lives remind us that care work has always been the work that makes all other work possible.💜 → Rebecca Lee Crumpler — first African American woman to earn a medical degree in the U.S. → Lillian Wald — founder of public health nursing, co-founder of the NAACP → Addie Wyatt — labor leader who proved workers' rights and civil rights are the same fight → Annie Dodge Wauneka — Navajo Nation leader and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient who saved lives by meeting her community where they were Their work is our foundation. Let's keep building. #WomensHistoryMonth #CareWork #FamilyValuesAtWork #LaborRights #HealthEquity #BlackHistory #IndigenousHistory #WomensHistory #WorkersRights

As the #Oscars approach this Sunday, let's shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes of our society: Caregivers.🎬🌟 These five Oscar-worthy films — Marvin's Room, The Intouchables, Still Alice, Silver Linings Playbook, and Sky Blossom — powerfully capture the realities faced by millions of caregivers every day. From navigating diagnoses to balancing responsibilities, their stories remind us that caregiving is a universal experience that touches us all. But unlike the movies, caregivers often don't receive awards or red carpet recognition for their tireless work. That's why we’re fighting to build a care economy that truly supports and values them. This Oscars weekend, let's go beyond the silver screen and demand real change: 🏆 Paid family & medical leave for all 🏆 Affordable, accessible care options 🏆 Thriving wages & benefits for care workers 🏆 Dignity, respect & support for caregivers Share this post to show caregivers everywhere that they are seen, appreciated, and deserving of our collective support. Together, we can create a world where no one has to choose between earning a living and caring for their loved ones.

The momentum is ours. 📣 The 19th is reporting this week on new research from the @NPWF showing that state paid family and medical leave laws now cover nearly 1 in 3 U.S. workers — the highest share in history. 14 states have acted. Six more are close. But here's the truth: families in the other 37 states can't wait. And three-quarters of Americans already agree — Congress should pass a national paid leave program that covers medical leave, parental leave, and family caregiving, at the minimum. The public is ready. Congress needs to catch up. We've been fighting for this for over two decades — in statehouses, in communities, and in the halls of Congress. Every single one of those 14 state laws is proof that organizing works. And we're not stopping until every worker, in every state, has the same guarantee. The fight for federal paid family and medical leave is now. Join our fight. 🔗 Link in bio. #CareIsLove #PaidFamilyLeave #PaidLeave #FamilyValuesAtWork #CareCantWait #FamiliesOverBillionaires

Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon
I’ve always attended the State of the Union out of respect for the Office of the President, but this President has not returned that respect to Congress or the American people. So instead, I'll be joining colleagues and Americans at the People's State of the Union to examine how this administration's attacks on access to healthcare and civil liberties are impacting all Americans.

On #NationalCaregiversDay, we honor a leader who understood that care work and civil rights are inseparable. Melnea Cass (1896-1978) didn't just talk about justice—she built it. This Boston civil rights leader established Massachusetts' first childcare program, supporting families who needed care while fighting for minimum wage legislation and pay parity for the domestic workers providing that care. Cass knew that economic justice meant ensuring care workers—predominantly Black women—received fair compensation for essential labor. Her work in Massachusetts set a standard we're still fighting to achieve nationwide. While Congress debates cutting care to fund tax breaks for billionaires, Cass's legacy calls us forward: Care workers deserve dignity, respect, and living wages. 💜 #NationalCaregiversDay #FamiliesOverBillionaires #BlackHistoryMonth #CareEconomy #EconomicJustice

"Unbought and unbossed." Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm (1924-2005) didn't just break barriers—she fought for the policies families desperately needed. As the first Black woman elected to Congress, she championed the Comprehensive Child Development Act of 1971, a bold vision for universal childcare that would have transformed life for working families. The bill was vetoed by President Richard Nixon. But Chisholm's fight showed us what's possible when we put families first. Decades later, we're still fighting for affordable, accessible childcare. Congress is still choosing billionaire tax breaks over families. It's time to finish what Chisholm started. 📷 #FamiliesOverBillionaires #BlackHistoryMonth #ChildCareMatters

Child Care for Every Family
Child care providers, parents, and advocates are packing the halls of Congress this morning to remind Republicans that the real crisis facing our sector is a lack of funding. Rather than manufacturing scandals & funding freezes, lawmakers should be working to #FundChildCare!

This Black History Month, we honor the leaders who fought for what we're still fighting for today: dignity, fair wages, and respect for care work. Dorothy Bolden organized Black women domestic workers in Atlanta when they were invisible and undervalued. She founded the National Domestic Workers Union and demanded what should have always been a given—fair wages and respect. Bolden's fight reminds us: Care work IS real work. And care workers deserve living wages, labor protections, and dignity. Her legacy lives on in every care worker standing up for their rights today. 📷 #FamiliesOverBillionaires #BlackHistoryMonth #CareWork #DomesticWorkers

Across the country, ICE and Border Patrol’s masked, aggressive deployments are causing fear and disruption after a 400% funding surge added 10,000 unvetted agents. • Vote NO on ICE, Border Patrol, and detention center funding • Stop unauthorized federal deployments • Ensure accountability for violence and abuse I’m urging you to act.

This year begins with a commitment: the fight for care never stops. In 2025, we fought for paid family leave, sick days, and childcare policies that support working families. In 2026, we're demanding more—because rest, joy, and time with loved ones shouldn't be privileges. They're necessities. When families thrive, we all thrive. Let's make 2026 the year care wins. ✨ #FamiliesOverBillionaires #CareOverBillionaires #TimeToCare

, Happy Holidays from all families—single parent, two-parent, multigenerational, LGBTQ+, and every family in between. Care is a family value. And every family—no matter how you celebrate this season—deserves access to paid leave, paid sick days, eldercare, and affordable childcare. Care is the answer to affordability. It’s the antidote to fascism. When we invest in care policies, we invest in all of us. That's the future we're building together. 💙 #FamiliesOverBillionaires #CareEconomy #PaidLeaveNow

"All Her Fault" just made the best TV shows of 2025 list—but if you're a working parent, the real story hits differently. 👀 The show everyone's binging reveals something we live every day: the daily horror of being left to figure out childcare, paid leave, and work-life balance with ZERO support. Here's the reality check: ❌ Only 27% of workers have paid family leave ❌ Average childcare costs: $15-16K per year ❌ Working mothers are still the "default parent" ❌ And when systems fail? We blame moms. While a child vanishing is every parent's worst nightmare, millions of working families face a devastating reality daily: choosing between a paycheck and caregiving. The show asks: "Can you really have it all?" We answer: You shouldn't have to choose. Working parents deserve better. 💙 Join us in this fight for: ✅ Paid family and medical leave ✅ Affordable childcare for all families ✅ Economic justice and real support Drop a 💙 if you've ever had to choose between work and care. Then click the link in bio to take action. Your voice = real change.

Your healthcare is disappearing in 20 days. 💔 On December 31st, 4 million Americans will lose affordable healthcare as ACA Premium Tax Credits expire—while Congress hands $4.5 trillion in tax cuts to billionaires. This isn't justice. This is a choice. But you have power. We're demanding Congress pass a clean extension of ACA Premium Tax Credits with no hidden riders, no poison pills—just healthcare for families who need it. Tell your representative now – bit.ly/3La1RTn Share this. Tag someone who deserves healthcare. Show Congress we're watching. Families deserve healthcare. Billionaires don't get to choose. Extend ACA tax credits. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Families over billionaires. 🤍
