@BrendanEich @lukemulks I had an idea about a possible UI / UX change I wanted to share with you guys, maybe giving you guys some ideas or a different perspective. Right now when I open the browser from a dead start, or open a new tab, the input autofocuses to the top search input within the nav bar area. The thing is, if it focuses already at the top, then the search bar in the middle of the screen is kind of redundant, apart from people that have the habit to use it (which I wonder what the statistical difference is between those two) This all made sense before when search was the only goal of the user, however, now the user has a slightly different goal. Sometimes they want to search, sometimes they want to ask questions to AI. What I'm wondering, is there a way to do both, instantly? No shortcut keys, no multiple clicks, hard to reach buttons, etc. Could we make it clear and straight forward for the user? Now from a business perspective, I may not know the goals internally, but I understand that we could have the LEO chat more accessible from every screen direct by setting up like this: Top search bar = Search + LEO shortcuts Middle search bar = LEO = Search shortcuts (Top search bar remains default focus when opening a new tab, dead start, etc.) Users pick and choose the input to use, while still having the option to switch to the other using shortcuts This gives instant access to everyone for both, and makes LEO much much more accessible for users. The effect of this from a business perspective could be that the browser remains a browser, but feels more accessible like the native chat experience that people have grown to love with ChatGPT, perplexity, etc. We can even setup an animation where if the user uses the middle chat bar, the tab turns into a full screen chat mode experience, similar to how google gemini has the "Dive deeper" animation that turns the search into chat, but rather this is on the actual tabs. Makes everything super accessible for users, and super convenient for productivity. I can say more additional things in terms of monetization, advertising options, etc as well, but the post is already a bit long 🙂

$BAT was ranked 255 in mcap toward the end of September. Now, we have line of sight for long overdue return to the top 100. And we have yet to publish the @AttentionToken Roadmap 4.0. User-first with @Brave. User-first Attention economy with $BAT. $BAT = Tokenized Attention. Let's go.

@BrettFromDJ Where did you release the link to the figma file. No one can find it.

To be clear, I released a Figma file containing these elements for the community to use. Lynel copied the elements from the Figma file, posted them here, and claimed he designed them, having made no changes to it. Not quite the same as "drawing inspiration".

@FilipArambasic @lukemulks It's good to be a skinsuit while pumping privacy win (dropping IP address, at least with the original Yahoo deal by which they got Bing API access). Brave is not a skinsuit, never will be. We're doing well enough now to do the kind of marketing you want, so please stay tuned.

@BrendanEich @lukemulks No offence, but I think this is one thing that's lacking, at least in some regard. Often times I see ads for DuckDuckGo like this, or at the airport billboards even a few months ago when I was in the US. The only ads I see for Brave are the ones I see from the accounts I follow or the actual browser I use (Brave). At this point I've probably converted 100+ people into using brave on a daily basis, so I understand the tactic of making the product good, and it will market itself through its users, but of course accelerating the growth through ads would be nice too. Just look how effective the ad below is, many people who don't use brave but have an interest in AI may check out DuckDuckGo just because of it and the enticing offer of $10 a month for AI access. It was the first thing I saw when I opened Instagram today, I don't even follow DuckDuckGo or anytime. Just an idea, I'm sure you guys have thought about it in some regards.

Interesting, I've never noticed it before, maybe because my focus was always on the first 2-3 results at the top, and I subconsciously ignored everything after that. Could the AI feature also be linked to the TAB button? I did a small efficiency test right now when typing: The current workflow is Type + Arrow Up + Enter (return on mac) This movement requires the right hand to move down and to the right, find the arrow button, which is hard to hit due to it being an uncommon use (requiring looking at the keyboard), and in an inconvenient place (under the palm when hands are rested). VS The TAB button, which could be hit with the left hand's pinky finger or ring finger, when hands are rested, without any movement after typing, and without any looking at the keyboard, as it is a much more commonly used button. Additionally, no need to hit enter after that, as TAB wouldn't affect the workflow of other things. I don't think TAB is used for anything else in the search bar. (Please correct me if I am wrong) You guys could even launch a marketing campaign in the future under Type & Tab to access AI 😂 Type, Tab, Talk to AI 😎 @BrendanEich @lukemulks

@FilipArambasic @BrendanEich @lukemulks Ah, that's perfect! Thank you 😀 Desktop has a similar shortcut when using the top search bar; you'll find it at the bottom of the list of suggestions.

@BrendanEich @lukemulks Another small UX suggestion: I noticed on the Android app and iPhone app you guys have a beautifully coloured almost glowing button for directly opening the AI chat (next to the search engine options). However, for Desktop, the AI option in the top search bar isn't there. As a tech savvy user, I don't see a problem, but for a less tech savvy person, on desktop, they may not even know that a separate AI chat is even an option. In addition to that, users don't see an AI button when opening a new tab at the bottom of the screen. (Maybe this is by design, planned to direct to the search option prior to the AI chat, to capitalize on future search AD profit, but if it were the case, the mobile apps wouldn't have such a button, right?) ----- Oh also I just thought of a really cool idea when to make it work too. By pressing Return(Mac) or Enter(Windows) it searches like a regular browser. But what if, in another case, when you press TAB it automatically opens the AI chat in the expanded AI / LEO window. This would make the almost useless TAB button actually useful on a daily basis, in a section that doesn't interfere with other functions.

@FilipArambasic @BrendanEich @lukemulks Thank you for the feedback, Filip! Could you tell me a bit more about the UX suggestion? A screenshot of the "almost glowing button" would be helpful. Thank you for graciously contributing thoughtful feedback to the project 😀

@BrendanEich @lukemulks Possibly Interesting Idea: Apart from the technology, one of your guys' biggest strengths is the user base and community. The user base is so strong and die hard that in many ways it reminds me of Apple Fan boys, or Tesla Drivers. Everyone loves using this thing, and wants it to succeed, especially me. I see the vision and the multiple directions it can head towards. Based on this, I constantly try to think of ways I can use my brain to possibly help you guys out. Over the years I've seen you guys launch and begin advertising Brave's other products all the time, which is cool, after all, you guys need revenue to fund things and grow. It made me think, what if I could give you guys some extra cash, to speed things along. Now I wish I had the free capital to do so, but I don't... (I'm still a small fish, at least right now 😉) So I have to think of more creative methods to do so... Long story short; I've come up with an idea and have created a whitepaper that could give you guys anywhere from $100,000,000 - $500,000,000 of extra profit / non dilutive investment, if not more, over the next few years (possibly as fast as 2). I'd love to share it with you guys, if you are available for a 30 minute call or zoom meeting, I promise it won't be a waste of your time. I don't need anything in return, and I'm not going to sell you guys on any bs. Just want to share the idea, in a private matter, with top level management, hoping it significantly helps you guys out, which I think it legitimately could.

@BrendanEich @lukemulks Small UX tweak suggestion: When I hit CMD B to open the Brave LEO Chat, it doesn't automatically click into the chat, instead I have to move my mouse to click it, then type. Would be more convenient to just hit CMD B on my Mac and automatically start typing, rather than having to shift over the mouse and then click the chat box after to start typing.

@FilipArambasic @lukemulks brave.com/blog/rewards-i… Crypto wasn’t the issue. See our blog from Dec. 10, 2020, which links to 3.1.1 & 3.2.2 (3.2 is “Other Business Model Issues”). Note 3.3.2(ii) & 3.2.2(vi) are hidden now, so I fetched Dec. 9, 2020 Wayback snapshot. Courts killed 3.1.1 (IAP) in U.S. only.

The political witch hunt against President @MiloradDodik is a sad example of the weaponization of the legal system aimed at a democratically elected leader. If we want to safeguard stability in the Western Balkans, this is not the way forward!
