The fact that California elections often can't be resolved for weeks is kind of insane and not common in other electoral systems around the world.

@FlakedAndFormed @NateSilver538 Should be done and announced on election night. If it takes any longer, it's fraud. I don't care what you call it, it's fraud

@norcalkr7 @FlakedAndFormed @NateSilver538 And people act like this was always the case. It didn’t happen when I was younger outside of edge cases. 2012 and 2016 weren’t like this. And we have to fight off geriatric gaslighting in addition to the main promoters of these lies.

In 2024, 14 house races hadn’t been called three days after the election. It’s not 1978 anymore grandma, in 2024 the results should be in. Florida was done counting two hours after polls closed. It’s called competence and transparency - two qualities democrats in California find troubling for obvious reasons.

@NateSilver538 When has this EVER happened? I’ve lived 66 years in California and voted in every state election since 1978. It’s never gone unresolved for weeks. Never. You’re spouting propaganda, son. When did you become such a hack?

Like honestly "it's going to take us several weeks to tell you who won the election" is failed state shit and should be much more stigmatized.

Israel daily and casually bombs hospital, and not one junkie whore in Western politics, academia, or any other institution, dares open their mouth. Don't come crying when your world collapses, bitches. We saw the depths of your rotten souls

Another Israeli airstrike near Jabal Amel Hospital in Tyre caused damage to the facility. Jabal Amel is the main healthcare center serving Tyre and surrounding areas, and the attack, coming just after strikes near Hiram Hospital and the Italian Hospital, is further deepening the humanitarian strain on civilians already struggling under continuous attacks.

BREAKING: Israel just carried out a massacre in Tyre, completely demolishing three buildings — where many remain trapped inside — and wrecking the Jabal Amel hospital. Exact casualty figures unknown but thought to be very serious. More footage below

Reading How To Sell A Genocide, the NYT called every major population centre in the Gaza Strip a "Hamas stronghold" at some point. They actively worked to militarise civilians in Gaza to justify genocide

Platner's significance is hardly limited to Maine. It's that Platner, with the other DSA-aligned thugs and radicals tunneling their way into the Democratic orbit, marks a sort of Rubicon. Some Democrats are crossing it; others are thinking twice; a chasm is opening up; and a conversation, one that has been percolating up out of the embers of a broken and mostly forgotten liberalism, is starting, however tentatively, to take place. This conversation will stretch across several election cycles. It will be messier, one suspects, than the mess that has engulfed the Republican Party. But it must happen if Democrats are to become a serious party again, so, in this respect, Platner is a force for good. Not in the way he imagines, but still.

Graham Platner’s profile on a child exploitation app is breaking even the most partisan Democrats. Even Sunny Hostin is being rational: “He’s a liar, a racist, an antisemite, he’s a homophobe.”

The Platner campaign is accusing Collins of being “bought and paid for by Benjamin Netanyahu,” and says she “votes accordingly.” But Collins has voted repeatedly — to the frustration of the White House and some other Senate Republicans — to end U.S. involvement in the Iran war (that Netanyahu long wanted).
Graham Platner for Senate@grahamformaine

Susan Collins's latest financial report just came out. A staggering one-third of her money raised this quarter came directly from AIPAC. Senator Collins is bought and paid for by Benjamin Netanyahu, and she votes accordingly.
