@Osint613 Any time I see a tweet about a statement from a russian leader, I stop reading the tweet & move on. Everything from their mouths is propaganda. Not worth reading or even reporting IMO. better use of ur time would be to post this: "Putin said some meaningless propaganda today."

“Palestine” is a European name. It refers to the extinct people we now call the Philistines. The root of “Philistine” was the Hebrew word for “invader.” The indigenous Jews (who were not European) called them that because the Philistines were indeed invaders—from Europe—who settled in and around Gaza. The Greeks—also European—Hellenized the term to Palaistine to refer to the land. The Romans—also European—Romanized it to Palestina and renamed the Jewish homeland of Judea as “Syria-Palestina” to punish the indigenous Jews. The name fell out of use for centuries until the British—also European—revived it when they took control of the area and called it “Palestine.” Modern-day Palestinians, by the way, bear no relation to the ancient (European) Philistines. Arabs did not invade the land until centuries after the Romans had renamed it. The branding of the “Palestinian” identity, as distinct from the broader Arab identity, had not yet occurred at the time the modern State of Israel was founded in 1948. That would happen years later as a strategy developed by the Soviets—who were also European.
David Cohen@DavidBCohen1

The original reference is to the Philistines, a people who have no relation to modern-day Palestinians. They didn’t call themselves Philistines; the name is derived from the Hebrew term for “invaders”—they were invaders from Europe who settled in the Gaza area. That’s what the indigenous Jews called them. The Greeks who adopted another forerunner of the name “Palestine” were also European. And the manhole cover is from the time the British—also European—ruled the area. Try learning history, not propaganda.

More work needs to be done. JJNito197 and M.Bitton’s biased editing continued for years, largely unchecked. A systematic study of the long-term impact of their edits is now essential. Calling on @shlomitlir to consider a future study of these cases. Our eyes are wide open 👀

Another one down JNito197: An editor who pushed anti-Jewish narratives denying ancient Israelite history and casting Ashkenazi Jews as not truly Jewish, while advancing an exclusivist Palestinian indigeneity frame. Now indefinitely topic-banned from the Arab–Israeli conflict.🧵

Children in Gaza are being raped and then blackmailed into joining Hamas or having their sexual abuse made public, investigators in the enclave say. Will we see marches for this and outcry by the usual suspects? I won't hold my breath!

Turn on the London marathon for 5 minutes. Massive Palestine flags flying at the start line. Then on repeated lampposts etc. I’ll get gaslit and abused for saying this but, simply put, it’s an attempt at ideological domination, and a symbol of the Islamisation of our cultural life. The flag of a foreign land, governed by literal jihadist terrorists, who hate Britain, hate the West, and are dedicated to the eradication of Jews. Oh and who recently mass-murdered every ‘infidel’ they could find. It’s forced on us endlessly. And people are scared to push back against it. The average Brit does not want this. The constant sectarian politicisation and corruption of all areas of our social life. It’s not ‘organic’ either. It’s pushed by a vocal and shameless minority of activists. And it’s the result of the importation into, and spread across our nation of, sectarian Islam, which is of course backed up and bolstered by the cult-left and self-hating woke dogmatists.

This is probably wrong. Almost every meaningful restriction of the Iran deal would have "sunset" by now, so the war would probably have happened anyway. Yes, kids, under the terms of the deal, limits on ballistic missile development, limits on numbers of centrifuges, on advanced centrifuge R&D, on nuclear-related imports and lots, lots more, including UN oversight itself that ensured that what remained would be adhered too -- would all have been lifted by now. The deal wasn't stopping anything. It was arming Iran to the teeth conventionally and kicking the nuclear can down the road.
Ben Rhodes@brhodes

Iran Deal put a lid on the nuclear program. It's loudest opponents in Israel and US needed to kill it bc they needed Iran to have an active program to justify war.

Wow, @Reuters. How low can you go? What Pay-for-Slay actually is: an incentive program that financially rewards terrorists in prison and the families of terrorists killed by Israeli security forces based on how heinous and deadly their crime was. How Reuters describes it: “welfare payments to prisoners and families killed by [Israeli] forces.”

Last night, another act of political violence shook the nation. At this point, no one should be surprised. “The President is a fascist.” “Eat the rich.” “Let the streets soak in capitalists’ blood.” “Globalize the intifada.” “By any means necessary.” This isn’t fringe rhetoric anymore. It’s been normalized, echoed on campaign trails, and amplified on podcasts where politicians regularly appear. You don’t get to indulge this language, elevate those who use it, and then act shocked when it turns into violence. We need to get back to sanity before we lose our country.

My Toronto synagogue has been targeted 10 times, this Jewish-owned business has been vandalized three times, day schools have been shot at repeatedly. The attackers keep coming back because @MayorOliviaChow doesn’t seem to care that it’s open season on Canadian Jews.
Danielle Lieberman@delieberman

Three times. A Jewish store in Toronto has now been vandalized three times. This time, a rock through the window. Imagine living like this. We don’t have to imagine it-we live it. This is what Jew hatred looks like in Canada right now. And it keeps escalating. @TorontoPolice — reacting after the fact isn’t enough. Where is the protection before it happens again?
