Thread 1/6 💡 Do you think money makes you rich? Think again. Wealth isn’t about money it starts in your mind. True financial freedom begins with the right mindset. Discipline and perspective matter more than income.

Investing in youth skills to strengthen Rwanda’s coffee value chain CEO of the Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF), Rwiririza J.M. Vianney attended the graduation ceremony of 20 young women and men who successfully completed a six-month Coffee Skills Program implemented by Coffee Connect Centre, a RYAF member company. Delivered under the Skills Development Fund (SDF) in partnership with the Rwanda TVET Board, the programme focused on hands-on, industry-based training designed to enhance employability while addressing the growing demand for professional baristas within Rwanda’s coffee sector. The initiative reflects continued efforts to equip youth with market-driven skills and create sustainable employment opportunities across Rwanda’s coffee value chain. #YouthInAg #Coffee

At a knowledge-sharing event in @GatsiboDistrict , Joy Abesiga Ruburika, founder of Kabarore Maize Flour Processing Company, highlighted how targeted investment can transform local agriculture. With support from the Sustainable Agricultural Intensification and Food Security Project (SAIP), she secured 70% of the 158 million Rwf project as a grant, contributing the remaining 30% herself. Her plant now processes six tons of maize daily, providing a steady market for farmers, creating jobs, and boosting value addition in the district. Joy urged fellow farmers and entrepreneurs to “think big and invest boldly,” encouraging women to lead in agro-industrial ventures. Her story reflects SAIP’s wider goal: moving agriculture from subsistence to industry through partnership, innovation, and inclusive growth. #SAIP_Impacts

On February 25, 2026, #SAIPII convened beneficiaries in @BugeseraDistr for a knowledge-sharing session designed to present achievements and exchange practical experiences on boosting agricultural productivity. The event brought together farmers, local leaders, and project stakeholders to reflect on progress made under the initiative. Opening the session, Bugesera District Executive Secretary, Joseph Kayonga Nkuringa, commended SAIP II for its significant contribution to agricultural development and improved livelihoods. He noted that in previous years, access to vegetables and fruits was limited in the district, but visible improvements are now evident in both production levels and household welfare. According to district authorities, the project has played a key role in establishing critical agricultural infrastructure, including modern greenhouses, and expanding fruit and vegetable farming on a large scale. Areas such as Gashora, Kamabuye, and Ngeruka have emerged as focal points of intensified horticultural production, reflecting a shift toward more commercial and climate-smart agriculture. Beneficiaries who participated in the session testified that they have acquired new skills and technical knowledge that enable them to improve farming practices and increase yields. They emphasized that peer learning platforms such as knowledge-sharing forums strengthen their capacity to adopt best practices and make better use of opportunities provided under the project. SAIP II is the second phase of a nationwide program aimed at scaling up sustainable agriculture and enhancing food security. The project operates in 20 districts across the country. In Bugesera, its interventions include the construction of greenhouses, post-harvest storage facilities, promotion of edible fruit production, and facilitating farmers’ access to markets through the Community-Based Participatory Approach (CBPA). Through structured knowledge exchange and investment in modern agricultural systems, SAIP II continues to position Bugesera as a growing hub of horticultural productivity while reinforcing Rwanda’s broader food security agenda.
