Fortnite has been out for 8 years most of the long form content has been the same recycled ideas just re-branded for different seasons/chapters. There is no suspense anymore and the thrill of getting a win has been ruined by AI in every lobby including ranked which makes no sense. Shorts still do amazing though. Arc is a new game and people who haven’t played it want to watch to learn about it and the proximity chat feature is well done so every game there is a surprise moment.

Fortnite viewership is down for streams and longform content, but the player count is still healthy. So people like playing Fortnite, but not watching it. Why? The formula has been the same for too long…after 8 years, people know what to expect in a typical BR match. There’s just no reason for viewers to watch a full game except for a “victory royale” which isn’t a story ppl care about as much anymore. Like in Arc Raiders, there needs to be more surprises throughout: finding rare loot, a potential betrayal from players, attempting to get a successful extract. Fortnite needs an extraction mode!
