FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Forney, TX - At approximately 2:43 p.m. this afternoon, a small aircraft conducted an emergency landing in the vicinity of HWY 80 and Pinson Rd. The pilot and pedestrians in the area were unharmed from the incident. Expect significant delays in this area.

This week is Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week! We wanted to express our gratitude towards the animal control officers at the Forney Animal Shelter. These dedicated individuals work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of animals in our community.

Update: The closure will be from the AMC to Lonesome Dove Ln.

Attention drivers: please be advised that due to a hydraulic fluid leak, FM 548 northbound will be closed to one lane starting at the HWY 80 bridge until further notice. Cut throughs will be limited, so please consider alternate routes.

Forney Police Department assisted with a Kaufman County call which involved a pursuit that ended near the S.S. Road of US Hwy 80 and CR 225. The suspect left the vehicle on foot and was located by officers. Suspect was taking into custody.

This Saturday, FPD and other area agencies will host the Peace Officer Angels Foundation at Alfredo's Steak House. This organization assists officers who suffer critical life-altering line-of-duty injuries. We hope to see you there!
