@FibroFacts During the middle of a lecture (I was a pacer) I noticed I almost lost my balance. Other symptoms developed over the next 3 months.

What was your first symptom of fibromyalgia?

@FibroFacts Ask them what they need rather than assuming they will want what makes YOU feel better. It’s a different kind of pain and a different kind of tired.

What one piece of advice would you give to somebody who has had a loved one diagnosed with fibromyalgia or lupus?

When you’re chronically ill, your baseline is everything. Our energy (or “spoons”) have to be carefully rationed to avoid catastrophic setbacks. Unfortunately, even when you plan things perfectly, it only takes one thing going wrong to throw your body into a tailspin 🧵

@fibro_fairy I went through a very long and contentious divorce. That was trauma with a capital T.

@Forrest_kd That sounds like a classic traumatic reaction, are you aware of any trauma in your past?

Have #Fibromyalgia and are easily startled? This could mean your Freeze-Fight-or-Flight (FFF) is constantly 'turned on'. Many with FMS have experienced trauma, keeping us on high alert. This may be a cause of chronic pain and fatigue. Could fixing this help us feel less pain?💜🤔
