Seeing the names of innocent women our elder sisters, our younger sisters, our wives, dragged into the dirt with such harmful labels is a pain that words can barely capture, Even if there is repentance, the scars on the dignity of these families remain, We need to do better. It is time to look at ourselves as two families that share one roof, If we continue to tear each other down, blessings and protection will never reach us. Division is a wall that blocks the Rahma of God Almighty, We need to shift from this cycle of insults to a foundation of strong collaboration. For those who feel the "first shock" of these insults, remember the Hadith Qudsi; “O son of Adam, if you are patient and restrained at the first shock of calamity, I would not be pleased with any reward for you less than Paradise.” This is the spiritual math of our struggle, your restraint today is your elevation tomorrow. Intellectually, we must realize that Arewa are two massive families under one roof, Aesop warned us 2,600 years ago: “United we stand, divided we fall.” If we don't heed that, we face the reality MLK Jr. described: “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” As Prof. Isa Ali Pantami wisely reminded us; "Mutuna da alkhairan juna, Mutuna abubuwan da suka hada mu a rayuwa, yafe abubuwan da suka raba mu a rayuwa, Mutuna da alkhairan juna ga juna yafe kasawan juna ga juna." (Let us remember the good in one another, focus on what unites us, forgive what divides us, and overlook each other’s shortcomings.) Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho Visits NELFUND MD/CEO to Seek Student Loan Inclusion The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, Oyo State, Professor Olaniyi Jacob Babayemi, on Wednesday, 15th April 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, at the Fund’s headquarters in Abuja. Professor Babayemi was accompanied by the institution’s Bursar as part of ongoing efforts to engage key stakeholders and facilitate the inclusion of students of the university in the NELFUND student loan scheme. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor commended the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the establishment of NELFUND, describing it as a transformative intervention aimed at expanding access to higher education and easing the financial burden on students and their families. He noted that the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, being a relatively new institution that commenced academic activities less than two years ago, is keen on ensuring that its students are not left out of the opportunity to benefit from the student loan initiative. He emphasized the urgent need for the onboarding of the institution onto the NELFUND portal to enable eligible students access financial support for their education. Responding, the Managing Director/CEO of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, appreciated the Vice Chancellor and his team for the visit and reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to inclusivity and equitable access to its services across all eligible tertiary institutions in Nigeria. He assured the delegation that NELFUND remains focused on expanding its coverage to accommodate more institutions.
