I’m a public servant, an entrepreneur, a dad, a husband, and an engineer who spent a lot of my life making the government actually work for people. I’m not done with that, not by a long shot Today, I am declaring my candidacy for Secretary of State of Michigan.

Working people. Voting power. Thank you Michigan Building Trades Council for inviting me to today’s meeting in Lansing. I will #StandTALL with my sisters and brothers in labor as Secretary of State to make voting and government services more accessible for working families.

The Supreme Court heard arguments TODAY in Watson v. RNC — a case that could strip millions of Americans of their right to have their vote counted. 🗳️If your mail ballot is postmarked by Election Day but arrives a few days late, it could be thrown out. Why are Republicans doing this? Because if Trump and MAGA Republicans silence voters, then they don’t have to try to win them over. I’m running for Secretary of State to #StandTALL against these attacks on our democracy and ensure every voice in Michigan is heard.

I’m proud to have the support of the Michigan Democratic Party Veterans Caucus. Service has always been a core value in my family — my dad worked as an engineer designing combat vehicles to support the men and women who serve. That gave me an early understanding of the responsibility we all share to support those who defend our country and protect our democracy. I’m grateful for the Veterans Caucus’s trust, and as Secretary of State, I’ll work every day to defend the right to vote, safeguard our elections, and make government work for the people.
