@sirswampthing @AFL @AFLCoaches_ @sydneyswans Gun!! Question may be too hard to find but how many ex-players of a club, is the most playing at other clubs in AFL. Eg - ex Swans players ? Seems to be a lot of them in the system

How many “A - Graders” does your AFL club have based on performance and position this season, not on reputation alone. Previous years don’t count on your assessment. Give me your thoughts …

75% of the SWANS score came from big forwards. They did their part. Forward handball game will not take them to promised land but they might’ve discovered a plan B in 2nd half

@rohan_connolly AFL media is a wasteland. You either have Whately and others who pontificate on their pulpit or the Morris/Cleary style journo who chase the story. It’s either clickbait or telling you how to think

I often sense a contempt for AFL fans among a big section of football media now. Why? Love of the game, for one. I'd argue far more people I came into footy journalism with were genuine fans who grew up going to games each week & passionately following a team. Now? Not so much.

What a ridiculous take... "There are Blues supporters who have no other ideas than to sack the coach. You have another head on a stick today. Congratulations. Are you happy?"

@didtheswanswin @sydneyswans Would love 13-1, but realistically it will more likely be either 11-3 or 12-2, we will drop a game or two here and there. Pies, Cats and Port will be the hardest, followed by North, Saints and Tigers in that order.

Will Edwards’ debut one of the most well-deserved at the Swans for a while. Has had a poor run with injury but is regularly considered the best 1-on-1 defender at the club and finally gets his opportunity. Billy Cootee looks ready made for the #AFL, could play a lot of games.

@sittingwanderer @AndyMaherDFA it kills me that no one ever mentions how most of the frees and fifties against Harley are absolute bullshit. i will die on the hill that he gets the worst whistle in the league. gets pinged for EVERY soft/borderline one and rarely gets one his way despite being tagged every week

@outbreezyWC Depends on who they leave in charge in the box. Also if a young team better to be on bench, prefer box as it means we are contending more than not

@NicNegrepontis Big vic teams always get looked after. It actually should be time for other clubs, eg Bulldogs, Suns, Lions, Freo, Crows to get more of a share of the coverage. Smaller vic teams will never get bigger in the current construct

It's funny how the biggest fixture complaint of 2025 was too much Carlton and Essendon in primetime. And the AFL went, "OK... How about we do it again in round one?"

Dean Cox's first season in charge was derailed by bad injuries to very good players. When those players returned – the Swans looked more like their old selves. Then they traded in Charlie Curnow. What's their ceiling in 2026? My Sydney season preview: onepercenters.net.au/p/2026-afl-sea…

@henrywinter Where was this level headedness and logic for Ange? Seems Henry you had an agenda for the big Aussie unfortunately. You are treating Frank with fairness and respect and this should be the norm, rather than the headhunting you applied 12mths ago

Stick or twist? What a decision the Spurs hierarchy have to make about Thomas Frank. 1, stick with Frank? Out of a desire to resist more managerial churn, noting progress in the Champions League, acknowledging the debilitating injury list (11/12), players not taking individual responsibility, including the captain. And who could come in of sufficient stature at short notice? Pochettino after the World Cup, possibly, dream return, but who for now? De Zerbi for the rest of the season? Heitinga? And would you want their first game to be against the best team in Europe? Feb 22, Arsenal visiting. Or, 2, twist and remove Frank? Why? No wins in the Premier League in 2026. On the slide, lifeless domestically, first half against Newcastle a disgrace. Frank looks bereft of ideas. He’s not convincing in the press conference or technical area. He doesn’t seem to grasp the size of Spurs as a club – history, stadium, training ground - and the fans’ expectations, not about results, but about style. To dare is to do. Not to sit back and hope. Spurs fans want to be entertained – especially with the price they are paying for tickets. The match-going fans have turned against Frank, and that support is difficult to win back. Fans also been protesting against owners, so easier to sacrifice head coach. Financial ramifications: Spurs cannot risk relegation. They cannot tolerate being so low down the table anyway - every place alone is worth £2.7m. So which? Looking at the body language of the players and Frank, the board should act now. They can’t risk 11 days of a toxic build-up to the North London Derby deepening the divide between fans and Frank, a decent man but out of his depth at Spurs, and (many) fans and board. If Frank’s team then get taken apart at home by their loathed neighbours with visiting fans in triumphant voice the atmosphere will turn even uglier. A caretaker, even a coach like Heitinga stepping up, would lift some of the gloom. The logical, clinical decision is to put Frank out of his misery. A decent man and manager, but he's struggling. It just hasn't worked out and there's fault on both sides. Whenever they make their decision on Frank, Spurs board has to acknowledge the club’s responsibility over recruitment, especially with lack of leadership qualities in the players recruited (tbf Gallagher tries). Spurs need stronger leaders on the pitch and in the dugout. #THFC

@MickMCGU34 Noah Anderson, I reckon umpires sometimes get blinkers on and seem to under vote players, like Anderson in 25, think Rowell will get less and Anderson will get more based on perceived bias, umps will over correct

Give me your early Brownlow Medal predictions for season 2026. N.Daicos deserves the early favouritism and he is my top pick but at 5.0 that’s a bit short before a ball is bounced. I’ve backed N. Wanganeen-Milera at 19.0 & F. Callahan at 34.0. Both will shorten during the year
