@GhostHandDev Moon magic vs. Earth machines' is such a compelling thematic frame and that artillery piece is absolutely massive next to your character. The scale contrast alone tells a whole story. Metroidvania bosses that ARE the environment hit different. 🌙🐾
Villagers used to be blind.
Step 1 of building a real AI: perception.
Step 2: navigation.
Step 3: decisions.
We're at step 1.

Even if a movement feels right, having the wrong animation (or no animation at all) can make the movement confusing
If nothing else, a distinct animation signals that whatever thing just happened wasn't a bug
#indiegame#pixelart
I have a difficult relationship with pixelart because I do it with animation in mind so it tends to get messy with this many layers just for a 48x32

Special encounters are uniquely tough enemies that show up under certain conditions
This guy's fast, sticks to you like glue and almost never stops attacking

@K1LaStar The little ghost?
He's your friend!
But that's ok. Your copy of Ghost Hand specifically will feature the ability to dunk on the little ghost, Kila!
@RandomSwitchGmr Lol, good question!
The second case is closer to the idea. Because of the degree of freedom you have, we allow you to dig your own grave so to speak, but specials give you the tools to deal with & beat enemies that you're otherwise underleveled for
@GhostHandDev Is the goal to cheese? (Which don't get me wrong ..I love to cheese bosses)
Or can you beat bosses with anything and masochist yourself? 🤣
You're gonna encounter a lot of enemies that are out of your depth. You've got two (2) options:
1) run away (embarrassing)
2) use the properties of various equipable specials in creative ways to cheese them (waow)

@IncognitorP Small correction: 4 years in development, only 1 year with 2 people, but good question nonetheless!
Because we're focused on developing the game, we post what we can, when we can. Some weeks we have the bandwidth to post new things.
Others, not so much!
