BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Donald Trump just made clear the U.S. government won’t fund childcare services because we’re a big country that’s fighting wars. No wonder the American people don’t think he cares about them. Wow.

This is Ocho. Ocho lives in my bathroom and hangs out on my orchid plant. Every day I soak a Q-Tip in water and put it down for him wherever he is (on the plant or behind the toilet or on the vanity) and he comes running over and gets a drink. Was my first reaction to smash him? Nope. To flush him down the toilet? Nope. To “burn it to the ground”? Nope. He’s literally a fraction of my size. I could easily kill him, but I choose to be kind. He deserves to be on this earth as much as I do. In fact, he contributes way more to the natural order of life on earth than I do. It’s so easy to choose kindness. I encourage everyone to take a moment and make sure the language you use when it comes to spiders, insects, rodents, etc. is kind and not fearful or disgusted. None of these beings are "pests" or threatening. They are here to provide a value to the ecosystem. Let them be. Help them if you can. Be kind. It’s so simple.

The woman behind me in line paid for my groceries with a hundred-dollar bill, and I didn’t even realize I was crying until she asked if I had eaten that day. I told her I was fine. I wasn’t. It was a Wednesday in March. I had been sitting in my car in the Walmart parking lot for twenty minutes, trying to decide what I could afford. Bread or milk. Eggs or cheese. Tampons or deodorant. I had $23.47 in my account and three days until payday. My daughter needed poster board for a school project. My son had outgrown his only pair of jeans. The check engine light had been on for weeks. I went inside anyway. I got the poster board, the cheapest jeans I could find, a loaf of bread, peanut butter, and milk. At checkout, I watched the total climb. $19. $26. $31. I knew it wouldn’t work. It didn’t. Declined. I asked the cashier to take off the jeans. Then the peanut butter. Finally, the total dropped low enough for my card to go through. I grabbed my bags and rushed out to my car, where I sat and cried—not because of what I had to put back, but because I was exhausted from trying to make numbers work that never did. Then someone knocked on my window. It was the woman from behind me in line. She handed me a bag filled with everything I had put back—and more. “I’ve been you,” she said gently. “Have you eaten today?” That’s when I really broke down. Because I hadn’t. She squeezed my hand and said, “It gets better. But today, let someone help.” Then she left before I could even thank her. That moment stayed with me. Eight years later, life looks different. My kids are older. I’m more stable. But I never forgot what it felt like to choose between basic needs and dignity. Now, when I see someone struggling in line, I don’t look away. Last month, I paid for a young mom’s groceries. She cried just like I did. I told her what that woman told me: “It gets better. But today, let someone help.” Kindness doesn’t need names. It just needs someone willing to see.

Got a letter from the HOA yesterday Actual letter In an envelope With a stamp In 2026 The letter said my trash can was visible from the street for too long on collection day The fine is $50 I checked my Ring camera The truck came at 7:03am I brought the can in at 7:14am 11 minutes $50 That's $4.55 per minute of trash can visibility My therapist charges $250 an hour That's $4.17 per minute My trash can sitting in a driveway is now more expensive per minute than therapy I looked at the letter again It was signed by the HOA president Her name is Karen Of course it is I know this woman She lives four houses down She still has Christmas lights up It's March I know because I drive past them twice a day And because that's what I do I checked the HOA bylaws All 47 pages Section 4.2 says all exterior fixtures and lighting must be seasonal and removed within 30 days of the applicable holiday Her lights have been up for 97 days I went to the HOA meeting Tuesday night 7pm In a church basement Folding chairs Fruit platter that nobody touched Seven people showed up Four of them were on the board The other three were there to complain I was there to read My wife came with me She didn't want to But she said "if I don't come you'll end up on the news" I brought my legal pad Karen called the meeting to order She talked about community standards She talked about property values She talked about the importance of curb appeal From a woman whose Christmas lights are still blinking in March I raised my hand She said "we'll take questions at the end" I said "it's not a question. It's a point of order." She looked at me I opened my legal pad I said "Section 4.2 requires seasonal decorations to be removed within 30 days. Your Christmas lights have been up for 97 days. You fined me $50 for 11 minutes of trash can visibility on collection day while you've been in violation for over three months." The room was quiet One of the other three complainers said "he's right" The board members looked at each other Karen said "that's a separate issue" I said "it's the same bylaws" She said "we'll review it" I said "I already did. Page 12. Happy to share my highlights." My wife looked at the ceiling Some things never change Karen said "I think we should move on" I said "agreed. I'll move on when the Christmas lights do." Nobody laughed I wasn't joking I paid the $50 Because it's $50 and I'm not going to die on that hill But if the rules apply to me they apply to everyone So I filed a formal complaint about the lights With photos Timestamped Funny how surveillance works both ways The fine for seasonal decoration violations is $75 per occurrence She's been in violation for 67 days past the 30-day grace period I'll let her do the math Or I'll do it for her Because that's what I do Make common sense common again Plz fix. Thx. Sent from my iPhone

Born in 1832, Jonathan the tortoise turned 193 today. Yes… 193. This dude is literally the oldest land animal alive. He survived 2 world wars, outlived 40 U.S. presidents, 8 British monarchs, and probably watched more drama on Earth than all of us combined. He can’t see and smell anymore, but he still recognizes his caretakers just by voice and touch like a wise old gangster. Think about this: Jonathan was alive before the lightbulb existed… and there is a high chance he might still be here AFTER some of us are gone. Happy birthday legend... keep confusing time, history, and all of us… and may you live many more years!

Some very good journalism from MSNBC, reporting on all the fabricated stories that Donald Trump has told over the last year. It’s embarrassing. The guy is either brazenly lying or riddled with dementia—likely both—but either way, that boy ain’t right.
