@beto_op @golangch I am no expert but shouldn't nativewebp and libwebp produce same result, size wise? I guess the only difference should be in execution speed.

@beto_op @golangch libwebp is a C lib (via cgo/shell), not pure-Go. So we compare nativewebp only against Go’s PNG, since that’s what we aim to replace with this package.

Extremely sad to see DGG close, they were instrumental in starting Goodbye Galaxy Games and my first Nintendo DSi game Flipper. Without them its going to be a lot harder for (Dutch) indies to find their footing in the industry.

Thanks to the magic that is Zstd, I wrote a better photographic image lossless compression format than PNG in one evening. Compresses 16x faster, makes files 1/3 smaller, decompresses 5x faster: github.com/catid/Zpng Only 500 lines of hackable code. Useful for anyone?
