Exciting news! Cyprian has successfully undergone surgery to remove a large, disfiguring tumour. Dr Adrian, Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon, performed the operation to remove the tumour. A great way to end the week with a patient update on 17-yr-old Rashid who has made a great recovery after major neurosurgery. Rashid needed surgery for two tumours - one on his brain & one on his spine. These are among the more complex but vital operations we fund. Dr. Hussein Ssenyonjo, who performed the operation to remove the tumours, is one of just 12 neurosurgeons in Uganda (serving a population of 44 million). The operation was a complete success and meant Rashid could progress to radiotherapy. None of this would have been possible without the money raised by Alex who earlier this year took part in one of our @ExtremeEnergyUK fundraisers & raised money via @benevity 🙏.
