@Pipiriganya17 Acting like this is because he doesn’t care about his fans is really gross and para social atp. A translation, nomatter what, is new content. And has literally no reason to be treated as “owed” especially when a fan translation does most of the work and does it faster

@Pipiriganya17 And I think it’s unfair for people to tell an artist what they can want and not want to be done with their art???? He himself said he’s fine as long as it’s not OFFICIAL, he doesn’t want official work to be out of his hands and he’s made that super obvious atp.

@Pipiriganya17 I don’t get this line of argument?? Like people talk about Toby like he’s an oil tycoonist and not just some guy making a popular video game. It’s not up to him in any way to appeal to his fans, He does a Japanese translation because he speaks Japanese, not cause of japanese fans

@ICH0RTECH Toby is a millionaire, and most stages of the game developing for Deltarune do not need his direct work on it, so if he has 1 thing, is time. And not giving a translation after 10 years to the communities is just mean to the people that carried him.

@Pipiriganya17 That’s still reviewing shit loads of dialogue he did not personally write (let alone the fact he again, would need it re translated to him as a non Spanish speaker)

@ICH0RTECH He could just review the fsnmade ones, pay them something for their hardwork and dedication and put it into the game, it's not like he need to start from 0.

@Pipiriganya17 Just annoys me how much people simplify this! It'd be so annoying for Toby to just half ass a translation out of house to appeal to people rn. Nobodies entitled for an artist to make time for them, sometimes you just have to deal with stuff not having translations for a while!

@Pipiriganya17 And it takes a loooot of time to do that! Even the most professional translators are gonna take months to perfectly translate everything (With supervision from Toby) which just cannot happen! Like he's really never stopped working on deltarune since 2018

@ICH0RTECH Man, translators are professional translators, which means they are experts on keeping a story the way it is intended to be, to translate jokes, intention and vision. You are just understimating translators.

@Pipiriganya17 Like there's a point where you're having to explain so much to Toby that the game needs months of delays to get this out on time. It reealllly piles up with how much dialoguee there is in deltarune especially. There's a reason Rpgs usuallly don't have many language options!

@Pipiriganya17 Literally how would it be conveyed fully to Toby that it's right? As a game dev you really don't wanna just take someone's word on it, cause in the end he cannot ACTUALLLY review the final product himself. Also this is thousands of lines of dialogue, guy doesn't have the time.

@Pipiriganya17 Like, you can always just say Toby can put a disclaimer saying “I can’t personally know if everything here is spot on to my true Toby vision!”. But the translator STILL would have to know the full story, shit can slip though! Translators are not professional storytellers.

@Pipiriganya17 It’s easy for bilingual people to say it’s easy, cause duh. It’s easy for us. But for someone who wants to personally review if the script he’s giving to his Spanish fanbase is accurate?? Someone who doesn’t personally know spanish? Nothings getting done!
