The official Marathon PvE mode is coming, where you take in set kits and leave without extracting loot. You earn progression unique to the mode as you head toward (what is presumably) the Compiler. Only thing tied to the main game is currency you can use to buy items. Or you just spend it on mode upgrades instead.
It sounds cool! And 100% unlike an extraction shooter!
