My therapist told me something that really stuck: People dealing with anxiety and depression don’t always remember much, not because nothing mattered, but because they were too focused on just making it through each moment. When you’re in survival mode, you’re not fully present… and when you’re not fully present, the memories don’t form the way they should. And honestly, I felt that.
