Marcus Freeman spoke about the emotions of being at Lou Holtz's funeral and what he learned from the legendary head coach. "I didn't get a chance to play for Coach Holtz. I didn't get a chance to coach for Coach Holtz. But I did get the opportunity to be influenced by him."

Notre Dame athletic trainer Rob Hunt provided a ton of context on Charles Jagusah's injury and his recovery, including a procedure scheduled for today.

Freeman on LB room: In today's game with only 2 LBs on field much of the time, we have enough depth there.

Freeman: I spent a lot of time with different people when I was on the road recruiting depending on what city I was in.

Freeman on what he did this offseason to improve personally: Some of it, I'll keep private. I've done so many different things. I wish I could point to one. People seem at hoops games. It's more than just watching guys play. Spending time with coaches & players is valuable.

Freeman: I didn't get a chance to play for Coach Holtz. I didn't get a chance to coach for Coach Holtz. But I did have the opportunity to be influenced by him.

Freeman on whether he looked back on the '88 national title team while honoring Lou Holtz: Mon was opportunity to celebrate the life of a special individual and that's what everybody was here to do.

Freeman: This place can change your life if you let it. I believe that in my heart. I have gratitude to be a part of this place. I'm grateful.

Freeman on God, Country, Notre Dame: That phrase could be different to every individual. To me, it starts with my faith, understanding how blessed I am. Then, the ability to live in this country & have gratitude. And, I think of gratitude with Notre Dame & what it represents.

Freeman on determining the #2: You'll have a three-way battle and name one before the season starts, but that doesn't mean you're going to be the starter next year.
