@Melitaalsole The only time it isn’t cheaper is if you hunt deer. One deer can see you through most of a winter but it’s very labour intensive, so cheap takes on a different meaning.

@Melitaalsole Wait, I could’ve sworn it said “not everyone can afford veganism”. My bad! Was on the bus when I saw it.

Everyone can afford veganism.

@GLO_OMella because the dairy industry doesn’t talk down people who can’t afford veganism . i wish there was a more humane way of supplying ANY PRODUCE to america , but there isn’t . i have to consume meat harvested in cruelty , and she has to consume veggies harvested with human labor

@DanNeidle @XerxesBV @aunty_shirley @dodgson_sally And my analysis isn’t justification, but you must see why people feel the way they do about this, especially since Farage is a malicious grifter and Polanski seems to genuinely want the country to be better.

Its nothing to do with political inconvenience. Its literally about corruption. You have no concept of what it is to live at the other end of the consequences of these psychopaths. Can you explain how you think anger & common decency are mutually exclusive?

@DanNeidle @dodgson_sally Yes, I explained that’s your ideal, I also explained why people are clashing against it. I think I’m being very plain about that.

@IainJamie @dodgson_sally I’m a tax lawyer. You want to discuss something else? Ask someone else. “Experts” who pontificate on everything annoy me.

@DanNeidle @XerxesBV @aunty_shirley @dodgson_sally Well, if I recall you aren’t a fan of his tax policies (not sure if your a fan of reform’s) so it isn’t a stretch to think that you’d be looking after yourself by providing an “October surprise” of sorts to attack greens with. Not saying that’s the case.

@DanNeidle @dodgson_sally With greater scrutiny than just the tax angle — something comparable to investigating Polanski by ostensibly calling a local dry cleaner to establish residence — so having not much to say about such blatant corruption on the reform side seems irresponsible and bizarre

@DanNeidle @dodgson_sally I think people expected more than the tax angle on what is obvious corruption. There’s a clash in ideals: yours is to stick to your role and expertise and that is tax — but people expected the holistic and human lens of pointing out the corruption of that £5m

@ActivismEnjoyer @Felix1312953 @Jimbob575561 @TheLaurenChen Well, it wouldn’t be two plates of pasta but generally the portions would be made so you can go over all those different macros… and 30 dollars a day on lunch is crazy but that’s not quite what he said. Another point: those pasta dishes above are INSANELY expensive, not cheap

@genzdivorceddad @dieworkwear The widest chasm genetically and culturally between an Afghan or Somali and I is narrower than the ideological gap between you and I.

amusing since french huguenots experienced xenophobia upon arrival. since huguenots were weavers, english weavers protested them, fearing they'd take jobs and housing, as well as create public disorder. but over time, the huguenots improved the UK textile industry, adding jobs

@1followernodad Are the creative professions prepared to admit people with red-hot life experience but a lack formal training? They used to be, to a degree. I get the sense this is not as much the case anymore.

@1followernodad @BrndnStrssng Or, wrong platform. Everyone with a creative bone is ditching publishing and old media to be able to do what they consume — skits and reels on social media, chasing money and being shaped by the algorithm.
