The U.S. Navy has seized the Guyana-flagged Majestic X oil tanker (IMO: 9198317) in the Indian Ocean while it was reportedly carrying Iranian crude oil bound for China. The vessel, also known as Phonix, is a very large crude carrier with a capacity of around 2 million barrels. It had previously been sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department.
