Etwa fünfzehn Minuten später nahm ich sie zum ersten Mal in den Arm. Sie leistete keinen Widerstand. Von diesem Moment an blieb sie bei mir. Er folgte mir von Zimmer zu Zimmer, setzte sich neben mich und suchte zärtliche Streicheleinheiten und die familiäre Routine. Ich habe mein ganzes Leben mit Katzen gelebt, aber ich habe noch nie einen so rohen und echten Schmerz erlebt. Er hatte seine Person verloren und dann mich gewählt.
